Anyone have any issues with their baby not taking bottles? Ella refuses to take any other bottle that isnt her NUK one with the well used teats. The thing is that eventually i will have to replace them with new ones and she refuses to drink from new teats even if i check the holes arent blocked. I just brought some new avent bottles and new teats for 1+ month and she screams and refuses to even try to suck.... any pointers? Im seriously almost at my wits end this has not been a good day!

The only advice i really have is just keep trying she will take it when she is hungry enough.
I think the best thing with trying to get baby to take the bottle is to just keep offering it to her and she will get the hang of it. Maybe get somebody else to try and give it to her if you haven't tryed that already. That worked for me.
Good luck i know it can get frustrating.

My friends baby did this and she was a witch with bottle feeding. Best thing to do is to keep trying with the other one. Just use that one for the mean time so she gets to know that this is the only bottle and teat there is missy. If she is that hungry she'll drink.

its mindboggling how such an angelic looking child could be such a fussy miss when it comes to feeding!
can you get some more of the same brand bottles? that might be the only issue she has, she likes the ones she has? i dont know, not much experience with bottles sorry :(
or what about having 2 bottles ready for a couple of feeds, start with the one she likes, then do a quick switch on her - hopefully she might just accept the new one coz she has already starting drinking and is hungry. then when that has worked a few times, just have the new bottles.

problem is if the avent ones are different teats to the NUK ones then she will feel the difference.. sometimes they develop their own way of sucking and different teat shapes just make them grumpy... Paris would only take the teats that were shaped the same as the one on her dummy, so we used the pur flat ones.. Try washing new teats with nice hot water and letting then soak (not too long!) which *may* soften them a little. With her well used teats the holes in them would have gotten a little stretched and she won't have to work so hard cos the teats get all soft... keep trying her at every feed, but mainly you'll probably have to stick with the same ones you started her on.

Jess, if you do end up changing your mind and decide to get rid of the Avent ones, I'd be happy to take them off your hands... (would pay whatever they're worth)...

I've got a 2 pack of Avent extra soft newborn teats (0+ mths. Flow = 1), packet not even opened that I'm willing to sell to anyone here. Ashlee won't take Avent bottles/teats either. Flick me a PM if interested.
