I know every baby is different, but at what stage do babies generally start to whack at hanging toys etc? Ellie doesn't seem to really like being in her rocker with the hanging toys and wants to be held while she's awake. Tummy time isn't an option cause she's in a pavlik harness. I feel stink that she doesn't seem to be doing anything...

Isabella isnt batting her toys yet, she has only just started to enjoy-ish being on the floor under her play gym, she sort looks suprised when her hand accidently swats a toy.

..I think Caden was about 3 months when he really started to take interest in his toys etc

Ava's just started but it takes her a good few minutes before she gets the connection between what's happening and that its her actually doing it lol. She gives it a go but often misses.

So I'm pretty sure its normal for our babies to not be very coordinated yet (oh and dont worry about floor time etc, Ava's not in a harness and hates being on the floor so gets about 5min a day, most of that time she's crying too (poor girl has reflux tho). And its only over the last few days I've been able to get her in the bouncer for more than a minute.

Jackson isnt purposefully hitting/batting any toys yet either. We've put rattles in front of him to reach and grab but he hasnt figured that out yet either, in fact he's not really interested in toys yet. So I guess its normal at this age. Someone said to me that it usually happens around 3/4 months

Chelsea still wasn't grabbing at toys at 4.5months according to her Plunket book, but started doing it about a week later! And now she is so rough with her hands it actually really hurts when she grabs/hits people's faces, lol! I'm sure your wee girl will get there soon enough

I was worried about the same thing when Ty was little! He didn't start reaching for toys/batting them until he was around 4.5 months either
My friends bub is now 4 months and still isn't really reaching for toys either.
Can she lie on her back under one of those activity gym things?

Morgan was batting at them before 2 months and for the last 4 or so weeks has been putting everything in her mouth, but plunket were very surprised at her 3 month check and said that they don't expect them to be bringing things to their mouth til 4 months.
