Hi yes I had this problem (except I had no period straight after removal) , after so many hpts stress and anxiety it had turned out that I was pregnant but was going to misscarry and the levels werent showing up on hpts a few days later I bled.

You may need to go and confirm that everything is ok with a blood test. Other than that my cycle was a little whack after the iud removal anyway but now (4 months later) its back to clockwork!

Depends too if it was a MIrena or a copper, the hormone withdrawal from the Mirena can make things a bit wacky for the first couple of weeks.

   Agreed,
They "say" it doesnt effect you but thats a load of doodoo lol
I had just the copper and it put me out of whack but if you google people who have had mirena have had their cycles go really wonky afterwards. *personally im not going to go back there again.
Halo are you ttc?? Sorry if you have already posted that but I have a memory like a fish lol

ttc Trying to concieve a baby :)

Yeah heaps of people I know had trouble with the mirena IUD and I had horrible problems with the copper one so when they offered me the mirena (fully subsidised because I have reactions with BC) I ran away as fast as I could lol.

If you google it you will find tons of people that have had Mirena removed and suffer with ttc difficulties and dissapearing periods for the first couple of months. (after removal)

In saying that they are fine for some people and there periods return immediately but there are hormones in the Mirena Iud so most of the time it will effect the return of your period.

Unless you are pregnant. Best bet would be to go and get a blood test. FPA can order you one straight away or your doctor or you can just go to MEDLAB and order one yourself and it costs like $20 at least you will know whats up.

 Edit becuase of terrible typos

I am SO getting a Mirena once this bub is out. Don't have to worry about being able to TTC again afterwards coz there is no such thing as afterwards, this shop is closed!

Impregnated with its cow like connotations is great - at 37 weeks, I feel more like a cow than any other species

Hahahaahaah
Yeah the convenience is good wih iuds so long as you dont have icky side effects! At least with the mirena it slows ur period right down. With the copper iud I went from 3 day periods with 28day cycles to bleeding for two weeks at a time and so heavy at points that I couldnt leave the house then spotting in between. Also had horrible cramping and DP complained he could feel the string lol
Yay for the blood tests, let us know the outcome aye
