And if so, how did you manage to get out of the house??? DS1 is 15 mths old and not really walking yet (just 5 or 6 steps between people kinda thing) and I have a newborn. I also have DD at school so need to do the school run twice a day. She is in Yr1 and her school has a programme where the parents have to go into class before morning bell and do a reading and writing exercise with their child so I have to lug all the kids in. Also you have to collect the kids from the classroom after school. So anyway, I was wanting some ideas on how to physically manage with 2 needing to be carried. Yesterday I put DS1 in an umbrella stroller and carried the capsule but the stroller was pretty awkward to push 1 handed plus I had to park on long grass so was near to impossible. Then I had to go out after school so tried carrying both DS1 and the capsule and that was a mission and OMG today my arms and shoulder muscles are so sore!! I do have a double pram but it just seems like such a hassle to set that up and take the baby out of the capsule just for a few mins twice a day...

Jacob walks well - but in reality he's a) very slow (except in some cases... refer to point c  ) and b) very prone to get very side-tracked by an interesting-looking ladybug and c) often quite keen on dashing off in search of trouble if he gets his hand out of mine for a second. So I'm in the same boat. I'm looking at getting a double stroller than you can clip the capsule on, but am reluctant as I don't want to shell out the money for something that I won't need after Jacob's moving rou d better or she's out of the capsule...

Get a baby carrier, ie moby wrap or something like that. I had to collect my DD from class & it was easy to pop the NB into the Moby & he went back to sleep. Then you're handsfree with the stroller for #2

I was like Hopes but with an even older child - she was 20m and either would not walk far or was a bolter depending on her mood 
Luckily we had a P&T and just just got a doubles kit for it. It was invaluable. It only took a moment to set up and made life so much easier.
BTW Congrats on the new baby

I was going to suggest a baby carrier too, and toddler in umberella stroller.
Man the school expects a lot from parents in the monring- what do working parents do, or ones that have to drop other kids at other schools/kindy etc.
By the time this baby arrives Im planning that Isla will walk to and from the car herself so I wont have to get baby and Aiden out everytime to take her in, pick her up.

I would be inclined to put #2 in the carrier and keep NB in the capsule.

A manduca would be good cos then you either back carry the toddler or front carry the baby - for me the only adjustment i'm making to switch between the two is to slide the carrier round to the other side. So I can choose who to carry each time. I'd also see if you could do that story thing just a couple of times a week?

Yep I agree with T-Rex - it seems a huge committent for them to expect of all the parents- have a chat with the teacher about it.

Thanks guys. Had a chat with the teacher after school today and she is quite happy for me to only come in when I can so that takes the pressure off a bit. Although when I told DD she got all upset and wants me to go in every day to read with her  She'll get over it lol!

Yay thats good- its way to much to expect- I am planning to drop Isla off at the gate and have her meet me there after school too once #3 is here so I dont have to take both kids to the class twice a day. I thought I would gradually start in term 2, but today she wanted to go in herself, she was soo proud of herself and so are we! She wants to do it again tomorrow too! Will carry on picking her up from the classroom for ages tho.
