Have just had MIL around. Hubby doesn't like his job at present as his boss is a w*nker - STILL hasn't paid him for waitangi day among other things. Anyway, MIL and SIL have decided that hubby obviously doesn't "have the balls to tell his boss where to go" and should quit immediately and go over to Aus and live for six months sending money home to me. Nice of them to sort out our "problems"!!!!! am so angry that they have been discussing us and deciding what we are going to do. i said to MIL "no way is lewis leaving us here" and she said, "oh but he'll earn good money" me" there are more important things than money - like his bond with his children". "oh, they'll be fine - i can help you out sometimes!" "over my dead body" she got the message then. But has still decided that hubby needs to quit. I've told her so many times that he IS looking for another job but won't quit until he has one. she thinks he should quit now to give him some "motivation" - yes I've heard starvation is a good motivator! am sooooo annoyed! can't wait for him to get home - we have a plan A and a plan B for what we are doing, but had felt guilty about leaving his mum to deal with doing up the house by herself - well not anymore!

ETA: Look out wellington ladies - we may be on your doorstep soon! (will pass through Palmerston)

What is it with MILs? I believe you are fully within your rights to tell her to butt out. My DFs former boss was a wa*ker too, but he didn't quit until he had something else. Cause yeah there are things like mortgage payments and food!! Tell you MIL to worry about her own life and not yours.
When are you passing thru Palmerston North?

hehe, that is so funny should have married an orphan!
My dh had the same problem and a few months ago he ended up with a work injury so had two weeks on acc, that was his motivation to get a new job he is now doing something completely different and seems to be enjoying it "Man of few words", we ended up a week out of pocket as the acc forms were henus to fill out and we mucked around ended up in od but it was all worth it. Good luck with your decisions, and we might see you when you pass through palmy, a palmy get together on the cards maybe.

   OH no not again.......

I think most of us feel like some days.

You did the right thing, Lewis and you should fix your problems not your Inlaws.

 Well done!

If it makes you feel any better I have just had my SIL, her Hubby and their little one (who is adorable) stay for the weekend.
ETA: I felt guilty - so have taken out slightly negative things said here....just on the very very off chance she finds this site and reads it!!!

Gee SimSam, your SIL sounds like my husband's MIL!

Hugs Liz... and if you end up coming past my door (ie, down SH1 through Waiouru) pop in for a coffee!
