I've just gotten results from my day21 bloods done yesterday - the doctors nurse rang me (not the doctor  ) to say I have ovulated, which is all well and good but I knew that from charting anyways. 
I did ask for the numbers and the nurse rattled off four different kinds  , with the only one that made any sense being 43.3 for Pregesterone... she couldn't explain any further as didn't know  so I'm asking all you knowledgable ladies if that's good or not (I was 7dpo when the blood was taken)

I think that sounds pretty high really. They say a reading over 10 is classed as high. Other than that I can't help sorry :(

Thanks Fiona... I've just done a bit of googling on it and have read that high progesterone can be a sign of pregnancy (although it also says this is not a reliable correlation) or a sign of adrenal gland disfunction... eek, better stop reading now and just hope things are all good!!

It can be a sign...depends what your levels usually are as it is relative. Hope for your sake that it is though :)

i agree with no getting your hopes up, the lst time i had day 21 bloods taken my levels were 56 and was told that i could be pregnant, and bang on time af arrived...but they are a good number, shows good ovulation

Tell me, how did you go about organising these? Did you just ring your Dr and go in and get a nurse to take them or how did it work? Am thinking of doing it myself this month as my ov seems to be a bit later the last few months than I thought...although this month I think I'm actually temping correctly as oppossed to what I was doing before!
Did it cost you anything?

DH and I have been TTC for just over a year now... at one stage last year I saw my GP and discussed things ad she said if nothing had happened by 10 months she'd start the ball rolling with the initial tests (bloods and US scan for me, SA for DH). Due to timing and the Christmas/New Year holidays I've only just been able get the first lot of bloods done - all it cost was the visit to doc at the end of last year to get all the forms etc... the bloods don't cost anything but the scan does.

Can i hijack a little here - whats the difference between day 3 and day 21 bloods? We've been TTC for 14 months now and my Dr has sent me for two lots of day 3 bloods (first lot came back showing low progesterone??) but for the last 2 cycles day 3 has been on a weekend so its really dragging the process out. Maybe i should phone and ask for day 21 test instead?? (Sorry i know its off topic)

No worries, if not PG this cycle I also have day2-3 bloods to do so know what you're talking about. The day2-3 bloods test for different hormones than progesterone, specifically FSH (sorry can't remember what this stands for), LH (leutenising hormone) and oestrogen.
Together these two lots of bloods will give a good overall picture of how your cycle is going.

Wow that is great that your doc does that! We had to pay $195 for clomid which was really just some pills (which we had to pay the prescription charges for), 1 blood test and 1 scan.

Jeepers, I paid $45 to see my GP and as I said she gave me all the forms then... I unfortunately got them mixed up and used one at the wrong time in my cycle but she said when I was ready to do it again just ring her nurse and they'd send out another form so didn't have to pay fee again.
Scan was subsidised through community radiology so only had to pay $70/$71 for that - do have to go back though for a followup so will cost another $70 odd but that's still ok.
