   that must be heartbreaking caronz...

Am I right in saying that Napier has remained NZ's worst disaster all this time?
That was 256 casualties. I really hope it doesn't get that high in chch but it's hard not to go there seeing that footage
Can't believe it...

I will certainly be getting a kit together for our place in the next few days, it is so scary to watch!  They seem to be keeping people really well informed via the news.  I hope there is some good news today as far as rescuing some of those trapped people, isnt technology amazing that they were able to speak to some of them from inside!

Hey guys. I am in christchurch. complete devistation here but my imediate family and friends are safe. wish i could offer some help to others but unfortunatly our own home is uninhabital at present so we are relying on relatives .I have only just now been able to view the tv after a night with no power and no contact to the outside world as phones and mobiles down. Watching the tv feels unreal. absolutly shatterd .  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone . i still have people unaccounted for but i am hoping through all of this i will hear good news . I have already heard of one death of someone i know of . very sad to see this happen to my city. xxx to everyone . thinking of all the ohbaby mums in chch

It's horrible, quite surreal. I was under my desk at work with ceiling tiles and lights falling around me - the scariest time of my life.

Our house is undamaged in Belfast - we are renting Dal's (Booboo from OB) house after losing our house in the first one, so we are so thankful for that.

It is so horrific. It is so much worse than the September earthquake.
We have family staying with us, whose home was damaged.
My cousin went to pick up his inlaws in Chch, to stay with him, just out of the city. He came back with the inlaws and 3 sets of their neighbours...they had all lost their homes.

There is no petrol, no food in any of the supermarkets, no nappies. Thank god I breastfeed, I really feel sorry for those Mums and Dads who are trying to find formula and clean water to feed their babies.

I'm in Christchurch and feeling extremely lucky and a teeny but guilty as I've come through this with a few cracks in the masonary and a glass or two smashed. My street is piled high with silt from the liquifaction and my nerves are on edge but the main thing is Josh, me and my immediate family are all safe and well.

I now have power and running water (still needs to be boiled though) and while I can't offer accommodation, if people need to fill up a container or two or charge their mobile phones, they're welcome to - I'm in St Albans/Merivale.

We live in Hornby so pretty much unscathed. Although I am extremely grateful to not have any damage etc I feel guilty that so many others have so much damage, inlcuding my inlaws, mum and sister.

If anybody needs anything, we have power, water, phone and spare bed. Hornby Pak n Save is also open so I can get supplies for people if needed. Please just let me know, I feel so useless as there is only so much I can do with a baby to look after but will help anyway I can.
