Hi ladies, l don't really post much but l am really struggling to cope this month. I'm 12dpo and finding these last couple of days really tough.

I am starting to think maybe l need to look into some sort of counselling.

Has anyone done this and if yes where?

 Thanks

   Hi Tibby
I think most of the fertility clinics have specialist counsellors - don't know what they charge or if you need to a patient there though. Also, most of the major cities have women's health centres or women's resource centres, who would either have counsellors on staff or be able to suggest someone suitable.
It can all get a bit much at times eh?
 Hope you feel better soon!

Like Catie said, I know you can get counselling through the fertility clinics - you have one compulsary session and then can do voluntary sessions after that. If you're not a patient, I'm not sure how it works, but in theory you would be a patient of somewhere?

I found that for us, we did whatever worked to get us through, and we learned to really appreciate how hard infertility is. Never underestimate the impact that infertility has on every aspect of your life - and it's a very unique struggle.

Thanks guys, AF here so guess that big progesterone crash was responsible for the tears.

I have booked a session with a counsellor at F+. I'm not at the IVF stage yet so it will cost $75 for 1 hr. Didn't think that was too bad really.

Feeling better today though. Sometimes it's almost a relief when AF shows because the pressures off, IYKWIM.

 Thanks for your support.

I know what you mean Tibby - it can play with your head when you are waiting for AF to turn up. Have you been TTC for long?

Hope the counselling helps and all the best

18 months is still a long time Tibby when you are ready to become parents.

We tried for 2 years before we got pregnant and that seemed like forever too.

Have you spoken to the doctor or been referred to a fertility clinic at all?

Hi Star, yes we are under F+. I have unexplained infertility and mild endo. I have just had the Lipiodol flush treatment and will move on to IUI later this year.

You are in a very similar situation to what I was in (except I didn't have endo).

I was with F+ too where I had a lap and dye. 3 months later, I got pregnant. They reckon that the lipiodol is really good for unexplained cases .
We also were going to look at IUI but luckily we didn't need to in the end. I'm convinced the lipiodol flush worked and would do it again if we have problems TTC next time.
I did find it very hard having unexplained infertility as I didn't feel there was a lot of support around for it. This forum is great though. Feel free to PM me anytime.
Fingers and toes crossed for you

The other thing is that you never imagine that you'll still be waiting 18 months down the track, and that time seems like a millstone around your neck. Just because someone else may have waited longer does not mean that your own wait is any less difficult.
