 Topic: What age??

Ok im going to ask some silly questions but being a first time mum just want to know what is right and want other mums opinions 
What age is it ok for babys to go in?
Jolly Jumper
Exersaucer/walker etc
Um thats really it lol. i have just been given these things and DD is 3 1/2 months so just curious. She is more than capable of holding her head up but im more thinking of her little legs
Any of your great knowledge would be appreciated

I think exersaucer is about 4 months. I tried my daughter in a friends one last week (she is 4 months) and she did fine, so we are buying one this weekend.
I can't remember jolly jumper. I wouldn't put my 4 month old in one yet though, she isn't ready.

3mos is what the JJ says. The exersaucer should probably be more like 6mos I think but as far as the legs go, either are ok because they can just sit down (take their legs off the floor) whenever they want. Just at 3.5mos they will have shorter stints of each activity than if they were say 9mos.

I think they're also based on weight and back strength.
Michaela went into the jolly jumper the day she took her first steps (she was 3mo and I refused to have an early walker so the JJ worked well at reprogramming her legs to jump instead of step iykwim). She started using an exersaucer from 4mths old

I had D in the exersuacer about 5months and in the JJ about 4 months,but only for short times

I had heard that the JJ is from 4 months and the exersaucer is from 6 months but i tend to think that it all depends on the child really.
The leg thing isnt a prob because these things will help strengthen their legs.
Bay was in the exersaucer from 4 months and Astin was in the exersaucer from 3 months (stuffed with pillows because the seat was wide and uncomfy!) and in the JJ from 5 months.

I think an exersaucer is supposed to be 5 months but it really depends on your baby. I wouldn't put a baby in one earlier than 5 months but Noah wasn't really ready till closer till 6.

Exersaucers usually about 5-6 months, JJ varies, 3 or 4 months for most brands. Jack was in from 3mo, had great head and back control so no concerns with that.
Also, walkers aren't recommended at ANY age (they are a serious safety risk if they topple or get stuck somewhere).

I found Jake struggled with his head control abit in the JJ (he went in at 3 months) coz he bounced so hard. I lifted it up abit and kept an eye on him coz yeah even though he had incredible head control he was able to bounce himself over halfway up the door lol just play it by ear maybe and see how Taylah goes.

Hmm, are exersaucers and walkers the same??
Was thinking of buying an exersaucer with all the bells and whistles, a friend's baby has one and she just loves it.
I have had DD in the JJ since 4 months old, she loves it
BTW, when I went to buy one I found that at Farmers they are $90 and at BabyCity they are only $70

Nope, not the same, exersaucers don't go places, they're much safer.

Yup, and at Kiwibaby they're only $59.
I should have said, after posting the link to that article, that we had JJ in his from just after 5 months, I figured his spine was starting to straighten out then, and like all things we used it in moderation. Can't use it any more (although he'd still love to), he just gets too enthusiastic and bounces off the doorframe
