I've fed him, burped him, changed him. I know he's tired as he's showing all the signs, yet as soon as I put him down he's wide awake and screaming the house down.

How long do I let him cry it out?

at that age i would have let them cry no longer than a couple of minutes. and if its screaming then maybe its wind or over tired ... so you may have to do mor for him, maybe more burping or rocking to sleep .

It was a burp! Thank goodness, I don't think I could handle more than 2 minutes!

I know you will get a lot of different answers on this. And please dont take any offence on what I will say but can only give you my own opinion on this and what worked for me. Might not work for you at all.

I handled McKayla as if the first three months was like a 4th Trimester. Think about it. That baby was in your tummy with lots of movement (you walking made sure he got rocked for a majority of the time), lots of noise( your heartbeat, blood flowing ect to your voice) and being swaddled in the uterus. And he had to move into a world which works totally different and he is getting used too. So it will take time to adjust.

I wouldnt let them cry at that stage. They will learn that they can communicate with you through crying at this stage and if you dont respond then they will just not cry but also not communicate. McKayla hardly cry as I would start seeing other sighns on what she needed and we worked as a team.

It can be daunting in the beginning but promise it gets easier. (that is until you get at the tantrum stage.

And once again this is my own opinion and you can do with it what you seem fit. You are the mommy and knows your boy the best.
