Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend an acupuncturist around central Auckland that deals with people doing IVF?

I'm worried about going to someone that doesn't understand the IVF process it's so expensive so I'd like to find the right person.

Also, does anyone know how soon acupuncture should be started leading up to IVF?

Any thoughts would be most welcome.

Me: 34
DH: 35
TTC 3 years
Severe endometriosis, blocked tubes
IVF March 2011, poor responder, 3 follicles, 2 x fertilised, 1 x day 3 replaced, no frosties, BFN

There is an organisation in Mt Eden that do lots of fertility/pregnancy related acupuncture and natural therapy ... haven't been there but I've heard they're highly rated Mother Well

Good luck

David Craddock in Ponsonby is a good acupuncturist. I am not sure of his experience in IVF cycles, but worth a phone call to find out.

Bessie in Mt Eden village is awesome #6303168 and specialises in women and fertility

I know a number of ladies who have seen her with IVF and other fertility issues and she has really helped

Carly Frances at MotherWell is great. I saw her in my last pg (she was practicing somewhere else). I felt really confident in her, especially as she is also a mw so I felt she knew exactly what was good for me and baby

I would recommend Mary or Margaret at naissance in Albany and they are also in ponsonby I think. They work in the same place as fertility associates in Albany and fertility associates actually recommend them to me for my ivf cycle. They are reasonably priced and come to your clinic on your ET day to give you acupuncture before and after. They are such lovely people and I defin will be using them again for my second round of ivf.

Thanks for your ideas, everyone!

I didn't try acupuncture on my first round of ivf and really regretted it.

Wish it wasn't so expensive though!

I can second Tiff8ny's recommendation. I used Patrice Hardy in Newton (I was working in town at the time) for DS and then Naisannce in Albany for this pregnancy. I believe that accupuncture definitely helped in both occasions. Good luck!
