I have some work pants that look great but the waist band has never sat right so makes them uncomfortable! I was thinking about cutting the current waist band off and sewing on a new stretchy waistband (comfortable and as I wear long tops nobody will ever know! )

Anyone have any tips for doing this? and really just wanted to double check that it will work!

Here is a photo to show to waistband. I just planned to unpick the bottom of the belt loop
