Hi - my little man is finally dropping but is the wrong way around! Google is full of information - but what REALLY worked for you?

Very grateful for your help!

Can't offer any advice cause my houdini turned posterior in labour. But hope he turns for you. I pushed out a posterior bubba on gas though.

My first ante natal class talked about this and suggested getting onto hands and knees and resting like that, - or sitting on a kitchen chair backwards. Blair turned posterior in my final 5 days of being pregnant and would not turn without help despite me pushing with everything I had - they managed to turn him with ventouse and helped him out with that and forceps. This little guy was posterior during a recent MW appointment, I spent a bit of time doing the hands and knees thing and also read sleeping on your left hand side may help, dunno what did it, but he's turned as of my last visit.

If I remember rightly it's 'suggested' that you avoid reclining lots.

Like kebakat, my little one turned posterior during labour, too.
(after FINALLY turning anterior the week before she was born)
I spent the week leading up to the birth sleeping on my left as much as I could to keep her there.

During labour my MW told me to walk as much as I could between contractions. If I had to get off my feet she had me kneeling on a chair, facing the back of it, with my arms over the back.
It must've worked, cos she was looking at the floor when she came out.

Good luck

*edited to make a bit more sense.

Avoid slouching and leaning back on the couch, in the car etc try to keep your tummy forward . Also the hands and knees walking around the house. I have been having acupunture for pre birth and it has really helped position - maybe that is worth a go also?

Mine went posterior after being anterior for most of the pregnancy. I spent a lot of time on my knees resting my arms on my swiss ball (while watching telly or whatever) and I had a kinesiology session, and the next day he flipped back to anterior. Don't know if it was the kinesiology or the positioning though!

Ty was posterior , and i was having regular , uncomfortable contractions for the 5 days before I finally had him, was 4cms dilated that whole time too ..i was exhausted by the time he was born , the after pics of me are terrible

mw told me to walk a lot, also dh found a site , will have to ask him if he remembers the name , but there were suggestions like going up and down stairs sideways, sleeping on left side, lying on left side in the bath, crawling , being on hands and knees.
one thing i read everywhere NOT to do, was lunges

Thinking seriously about that. Need to talk to the MW and see who she recommends as I don't want to walk into anything blind.
Kids back at school next week and DF will be home too (I finish work on Friday, yay) so we will be going swimming every day too. Apparently that really helps.

I am trying to train myself to sleep left side again. It was a bit easier last night - don't know if that was due to three nights practise or that DF was finally home and took up 3/4 of the bed?

Feel that bubs is sort of moved - knees coming out more to one side and not to the front.

My little man has turned again! After having turned him from a posterior postition, he has decided that he kinda likes it that way. Have spent a bit of time on my hands and knees, leaning over the coffee table, and it is kinda cute when Blair imitates me, but I will also be going back to have a good look at that webstite

Mine is slightly posterior as well now.

Caden was also posterior at 37 weeks, I got him to turn by swimming, leaning forwards lots, and lots of crawling round on the floor lol.

So I am doing all those things again, apart from the swimming, cos I dont want to go to the pools.

I was told baby might be transverse so I did all I could to turn and last week was told baby is head down!
I did:
Going on all fours and swayinh hips
Sitting on swiss ball
Took Pulsatilla (homeopathic remedy)
Made sure I was always sitting upright and didnt slouch
Also wore a support belt but that was mainly for my SPD.

Good luck!
Due 11 Aug with first baby

Ohh Aston was posterior a week or so before I was induced & it was horrible having false labour for 5 days with him like that!

Kebacat you're a legend for doing a posterior baby just on gas!

What I did to get him to turn (well he turned, duno if this was why) - but I got a jigsaw, put it on the floor, and spent my spare time doing it... kept me on all fours & not dying of boredom...

I was having regular contractions coming at regular intervals for 5 days and remained 4 cms dilated that whole time because he was posterior and trying to put his head on an angle to come out , my poor confused baby .

I had gas for a bit during labour , but thought it was crap , so gave up on it pretty quick .

Have great pics of me crawling around my house with my friend (she decided to join me ) Crawling is tiring, dunno how babies do it so fast
