Topic: Golden circle baby food Posted: 22 November 2008 at 1:10pm |
Ok, so I bought 7-8 cans the other day just to try as they were on special.
I put the food into a bowl and began feeding him, the first few mouthfuls were fine, but after a while the food started going REALLY watery? Im talking 3-4 mins after his first spoonful?
And, I put some in the fridge in airtight container and a few hours later I went to feed it to him and it was watery, with a bit of solid mush on top!
Jacksons got diarhoea at the moment and I cant help but wonder if this is why? Hes usually on home made pureed fruit and veges.
Anyone else have the same problem? the expiry date on it was fine, and its not like id left it for hours in humid temperatures or anything?
edited to add i didnt feed him the watery mush in the fridge..

Kylie I found that with golden circle too. It just goes watery, the one with chicken in it seemed to be ok, although I must say Liam got a little unsettled with it and quite windy.
I hope Jackson doesn't have diarrhoea for too long - he's not about to pop another tooth is he?

Yip they can.
I don't know why but I am certainly not going to buy it again. I'll stick to the Watties.

Thanks Dawn.
Ive compared the watties one to the golden circle one at the back and it seems the golden circle one has maize thickeners and vegetable gum, reconstituted fruit as well! Where as watties has none of those. Doesnt sound like something you'd want to be giving your baby often?!

Thomas loves the golden circle fruit salad. It doesnt last long enough in the bowl for us to notice it going runny ;)
We've been having a problem with the nutricia food (the one with just carrots or just beans etc) being rusty on the inside of the lid.

We always have issues with all meat ones - incl Watties. If Emma has some but does not finish it, I throw it out as it goes watery after a little while. Not sure why either but I've never had any issues with any sweet/fruit ones

Oh thats weird! I thought about getting some of that, but Caden is having either watties or only organic(which is really good stuff).
