Isabel - I'm sure you wouldn't be on your own. I think as a last resort you have hospital midwives. And they are fab!

I had Carolyn Fitch... not sure if she is practicing anymore but I'm pretty sure she's involved in the Rotovegas Youth Centre so maybe she is...? She was faaaaabulous I love her.

Umm... apart from that, get a list and start calling!

Amy Towle or Anete Andzane.

Anete is better than Amy (in my opinion) but they are also each others back ups.

The phone numner for them is 07 348 3838

I had Amy at the beginning of my pregnancy but moved to hamilton so needed to change.

Anete (pronounced An-nett-ie) was my friends midwife and she raved about her. Apparently Anete writes really nice little notes in your maternity book about how beautiful you're looking and stuff like that. Real booster for when you're going through those crappy stages.

OMG you're sooooo lucky. Stick with her. I know of a few other people who have had her and they all rave about her. You're going to have such an awesome experience with her.

Good Luck for the rest of your pregnancy.

ETA: have you joined your due date thread yet? It'll be April or May 2010 won't it? You should join your one! It's a great way to chat to other mothers at the same stage as you.
