Topic: Good news, Bad news Re: house Posted: 24 April 2008 at 1:36pm |
Well it seems we have an offer on the house, although our agent couldnt tell us what it was as hes not the one with the buyer and the only thing he could tell me was...
Good news...we have an offer for you
Bad news...dont be insulted by the offer.
So now we will see what happens tonight when the offer is presented to us...of course the other agent has to ring and make a time...because its only kents name on the title of the house i cant make an decisions.
so now time will tell...we know what our bottom line is and i bet thats way above what she wants to offer...and its not like we are asking over the GV or anything

Congrads on the offer!
We were really put off by the offer we received, but then someone came through with 5,000 more, not much, but we took it.
Fingers crossed there might be some other buyer lurking around the corner!

Remember that you can always counter-offer or reduce the time limit for the purchaser to confirm conditions.
Also if you and Kent have agreed on a price, you are able to sign "as agent for Vendor" (write that by your signature)... just for future reference.

I have no idea what that means, does that mean the offer was OK?

it means that they signed it but asked for a bit more, say the offer was $347,000 and Kazz wanted $405,000, her bottom line might be say $380,000, so she might counter sign at $400,000, and back and forth until it gets close enough to the bottom line and everyone is happy... I think thats how it goes anyhow. Our first offer got acepted less than an hour after we made it, so I dont really know.
Good luck, Kaz!

thanks....and your right farttartsrock, they came in low about $30,000 lower than our bottom line, so we drop our price by $5,000 and we will hear this morning what she is doing.
but she has spent so much time that we arent holding our breathe...its been a very painful process at this stage

well well well, the estate agent has rung back and the buyer has asked if we would reconsider our stand...so we have gone back with a figure, which is an extra $15,000 above what she was offer and we are prepared to drop another $5,000 so fingers crossed something happens....wont know till tomorrow though
