Does anyone know if babies go through growth spurts during pregnancy? I'm not talking about the growth spurts they all seem to have during certain weeks...but more the sort of thing that moves their percentiles on the growth charts. Or do the sort of stick to their general growth pattern and percentile? Do they sort of go from being small at some stage to being ahead and small again or do they stay small if they start small and stay ahead when they start ahead?

My baby was right at the average mark at 32 weeks and then at 41 weeks his tummy was right up at the 90th or 95th percentile. Then when he was born everything was right up there! So I think they can definitely move between the percentiles (is that what you mean?)

Can go either way but def can move through the percantiles!

My little guy was following the median line perfectly all the way through and then a growth scan to check if he was prosterior showed his growth a stopped and he had fallen to the 3rd percantile!

After 20 weeks (generally) genetics take over so I have been told.

I always knew when Jake was having a growth spurt as his movements would slow for a day or 2 then bam my bump would grow!

Thanks guys. Our little one is growing at one hell of a pace. We are sure of my dates because of early scans but 3 weeks ago he was measuring ahead by quite a bit. I am going for another growth scan tomorrow to see where it is up to now. Interesting about the movements slowing and then your belly growing...might mean this one went through this last week. He was quite and then bam my belly increased so much in a week that clothes that fit last weekend didn't fit this weekend. He doesn't need these growth spurts me thinks...he is already measuring in the 94th percentile.
