Noooooo! That totally sucks. Hopefully the showers are over and done with before we wake up in the morning (or even better the forecasters have it wrong and it's a gorgeous day afterall). Here's the forecast from the metservice.

I'm with you, it sucks. I don't know what happened to summer, we were off to such a good start. Its going to rain in CHCH too on Xmas day and only get to 18!! WTF, we should be getting mid-20's by now, and the shortest day has been and gone So much for the "long and dry summer" they predicted
Grump over...

I am kind of glad that its not just me grumping about it - I even rang Mum and grumped at her. I so want us to have at least some of the day outside!

I wouldn't trust the metservice, they can't predict what the weather is doing when it's happening let alone days in advance.

Lol cuppatea - that's so true!
I don't know about other parts of the country but I've always found February is the best summer month, it's usually calm and hot.

I always find metvuw more accurate - we use it for work, deciding when to go out into the field - and Thursday's still looking mostly clear for the North Island except for some showers over Welly in the evening. Sorry looks like most of the South Island gets showers at one point

I don't hold any faith in the weather forecasters at all. We were supposed to have a storm last week. It rained a little bit.

The weather forecast's never seem to be right anymore. We had a forecast of rain today and it is beautiful & Sunny.
I always figure there is a 50% chance of rain - that way I'm always right
Maybe it's a NZ thing. My Grandmother says that everytime they predict showers in this country it ends up being heavy rain, she says that if they ever predict really heavy rain, she is building an ark!

Sarah, when I was preggy over summer last time I lived in a sarong and singlet and constantly filled up my foot spa with cold water and ice cubes - it was bliss!
I see the forecast for Wellington has changed now. It'll be interesting to see what we actually get.
