I got rid of my membership because I wasn't using it but before I had Michaela I went to Les Mills Extreme (on Taranaki Street). My membership was $12 per week (it was so cheap because I joined in 1999) I think nowadays it's closer to $25 per week.
It's a fantastic gym and membership to Les Mills means you can use any of their gyms in the Wellington region (terrace, taranaki and lower hutt). They also have a creche for weekdays.

where abouts are you, city or suburbs. i work as a trainer in lower hutt. the gym is 12.95 a week and its only a 12 month contract. we have a creche open for 9am - 1130 on weekdays for children 0 - 5 and its free for all children. in the school holidays they take kids up to 10 years old in case you have older kids too. its not all glam and pretty like les mills but it is still big and has everything you need, its also real down to earth and chilled back

I used to do buggy fit at city fitness. It's a good wee gym. What about looking at the gyms in Porirua? There's a city fitness and a body works out that way.

I use Bodyworks, and you can use both Thorndon Quay and Porirua gyms.
They do have childcare, but it's pretty pricey - $30 or something for 3 trips and a maximum of a two hour stay, something along those lines anyway.
I didn't read too much into it as I saw the price and though ''naff that! I'll go in the evening and she can stay home with Daddy!" lol.
I pay $19.50 a week, but I'm getting rid of it because I never go and I could do with that extra moolah in my pocket.
There's another small local gym in Tawa which I'll be signing up with as soon as I get rid of the BodyWorks one, it's called DC Fitness, and it's just a small gym, but they have everything you need and it's really cosy..
It's something like $16 p.w on a 12 month contract ($10 if you're a student), and their childcare is $2 a session, you just have to book in advance.
