My friends bub has this virus and I know nothing about it...does any one know if it's safe for me to be around her?

jack had this not too long ago paws and i think the doc just told me to watch hygiene around him...usual stuff, wash hands before and after everything basically, don't share towels, wash cloths etc
i think he also said it was uncommon for adults to get it...but i could be wrong as my memory is REALLY bad!!

Yeah I did some googling before and it said that same thing...but the info I found was that it wasn't common for adults to get because most had been exposed to it at some time. It also said if a pregnant woman *did* contract it there was no proof what it did to the unborn child.

I have no idea if I've been exposed to it...so I've told my friend not to be offended but given the dramas of the last week (I'm still getting the occassional light bleeding/discharge) I'd rather play paranoid and re-arrange dinner...

I don't think she is offended but I really just want to play it very safe for the next 5 weeks at least when I reach week 38.

Feel free to call me paranoid....

it's not being paranoid paws...it's being careful and protecting your unborn child

I'd probably be inclined to do the same Paws. Don't feel like you're being paranoid. The last thing you need after last week is any extra stress.

Yeah Paws I think that it's good to be cautious - I mena its only a few more weeks of pregnancy and then afterwards you can catch up with her - better safe than sorry I would say and I think any decent friend would understand that!

The funny thing is that I'm sure she is fine with it because she gave me the option...I'm the one who feels bad!! Go figure!
