How long after a miscarriage should you have no HCG levels? Can you still have them 3 months later?

I have had two normal periods since a natural miscarriage in Dec. I was 7 weeks along. Never had any blood tests after the miscarriage.

i would say that if you have had 2 normal periods since your miscarriage then if you are getting a positive on a preggy test then you are pregnant.

I have tested just before my period and the line is super faint. I know you shouldnt read stuff on the internet but I was googling and it said you can have some HCG levels for a while after but wasn't sure how long after.   I guess I will wait a few days and not get my hopes up.

Hi pikelets, I'm not sure but from my experience I miscarried naturally on 10 Jan and had my last BT around 10 Feb which showed my levels were still 20. I have had a period since then so I'm guessing they would be back to zero.

Good luck! Are you going to get bloods done?

Thanks. I will call my MW this week and see what she says. I guess I will have bloods to double check and then if definately positive will monitor the levels. Fingers crossed.

Sorry about your recent loss LR.

Hi Pikelets, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I was talking to my specialist on Friday and he said that once you've got a period your HCg levels will be back to normal. You can't have a proper period without your Hcg being back to >5. There needs to be 20 days between bleeds for it to actually be AF, otherwise it could be residual bleeding.

2 weeks after my miscarriage I still have a faint positive on a HPT (Cruel) but hopefully it's back to normal soon and AF arrives.

xx

That is cruel, isn't it. I know after my miscarriage I still kept hoping and praying it was all a bad dream and I was still pregnant.

Pikelets, holding thumbs for you!!

Thank you ladies. Makes me feel better that it is not my body playing tricks on me. Another test was positive, no sign of AF so should be 4 weeks 2 days. So will just wait for 2-3 weeks before we have a scan and see what happens.
