Hey guys,

I just got results of HCG levels back but have not had chance to talk to anyone about them. Basically, they went from 313 to 4350 in 5 days...which is way more than doubling.

Is that a good thing?

Actually, it might not be that much more than doubling...I can't think! Fuzzy brain won't go away.

HCG Between 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml should double 72-96 hours.

Yours are doubling every 31 hours - so quicker than this. In saying that 'normal' is just an average, and there are many people with strange HCG levels who have normal pregnancies.

The higher the HCG early on, the greater chance of multiple's - so you could be having twins. Or you body could just be really receptive to the hormone which is why it appears to be so high.

You are still in the normal range for your weeks - so who knows.
3-4 Weeks      500 - 6,000 mIU/ml

Cant tell much until your first scan!
Due 14/10/11

Thanks Kiwikt, think I'm just impatient! And maybe a wee bit anxious. Multiples might be cool!

My levels taken at just 3w 6d were 140, then a week later taken at 5w they were 8650!!! So they doubled roughly over the same time frame as yours. But they did slow down after that over the next couple of weeks and levelled off already in the 7th week! Scan showed only one, so no multiples here, just very keen hcg wanting to reach it's peak!!

BTW the hcg calculator things are pretty cool, according to them I'm doubling every 1.3 days so goodness knows what I was by my 5 week mark! But, wow, I went from nearly no nausea to getting worse almost every day. Can't even bear coffee (my one last crutch) so I'm shattered and completely bleurgh! If it's supposed to keep getting worse, I am dreading the next few weeks.

different people have different levels

I found these sites helpful:

hcg doubling calculator

Betabase - note think it's down at the moment, however if that happens it's usually back in a couple of days - basically people enter their info so you can see what the average is for your stage for singles, twins, triplets
