HELP! Clomid and our Second Baby

So I have PCOS and when we were TTC last time I was referred to the public hospital system and they discovered I wasn't ovulating on my own (everything else was all perfectly normal, like egg quality etc). On my first unmonitored cycle of clomid I got pregnant. Anyway, we have been thinking about the next so I started charting a few months ago (not temps, just cycle length and CM). I am 99% sure I ovulated on my own last month (I had loads of eggwhite CM, could feel lots of twinges in my ovary area...all feelings I had only had when I did the cycle of clomid) My cycle length has also been a consistent 37 days which I have never experienced in my whole AF life!

So all excited I thought that the same would happen this month but it hasn't....so basically I have a few questions:

-is it possible to ovulate alternate cycles?
-is there a natural alternative to clomid I could try?
-how much does a private cycle of clomid cost? (by the time I get referred to the hospital again on the public system, it will be however many months...I have left it kind of late but I don't want the age gap to be too huge between my son and the next and just kind of thought my body had fixed itself through pregnancy....as naive as that may sound)

I would one to hear of anyone's experiences that may be similar?

I have done 6 cycles on clomid with no luck, and I also see a naturopath who gave me a herbal mixture that included vitex to help with regulating my cycles and ovulating. There is quite a bit of info online about vitex.

I was unmonitored for my clomid cycles through my OB/GYN, just had blood tests. I saw her every few months and paid $120 and then paid $15 every 3 months for my clomid. You could try a OB/GYN but not all do the scans (and you would have to pay for them - I think around $200) so sometimes you may over-respond or under-respond and not know till after your blood test.

If you're interested in natural options, I'd go see a naturopath who specialises in fertility stuff. There are things out there that are meant to help, but I'd personally rather have an expert assess my situation. Some people do seem to have success that way, its well worth a shot if you're keen.

On ovulating only some cycles, yes absolutely. Apparently, with things like PCOS you can often be most fertile when you first get your period back after having a baby, which would match your situation. It worked for me - after a long time trying with our son, we get pregnant with our daughter straight after my first AF. So keep trying

A monitored clomid cycle costs between $250 - $300. That's with blood tests and scans to see how many follicles are developing. A Dr (just a GP, doesn't need to be anything fancy) can prescribe clomid without all the scans for a lot less. Some are reluctant to, though, in case you end up with octuplets

I'm not sure a GP can prescribe it? I had really wonky cycles after a MC several years ago and my GP did some blood tests said I 'might' have PCOS (I might, but irregularity isn't usually a problem for me) and talked about giving me clomid. She said it had to be prescribed by a specialist though so I would have to wait for a referral.

I second that i went to the GP last week and we talked about it but she said she can't put me on it wanted to send me to specilist and then didn't even do the paper work for that either

I have 2 clomid babies and got my 1st AF back in Dec 11 after having DS in Sept 10 and am now pregnant with a whoopsie baby concieved in January!
