Are you pregnant or do you know some who is pregnant who would be interested in having a first year student share their experience. This is from a women's point of view not that of a midwife.

Did you know?
That first year midwifery students ‘follow through’ a woman and her family during pregnancy, childbirth and the early weeks at home with the baby.

What’s in it For You?
The student is available to help with support and companionship during your pregnancy and childbirth experience.
They can be someone to talk to about the joys and challenges of this special time.
You will be helping to educate the midwives for the future.

How Can You Help?
By sharing your pregnancy and birth experience with a midwifery student.
Talking with the lecturer about the student’s performance.

Who Can I Talk To About the Programme?
The lecturers at the Otago Polytechnic School of Midwifery.

You are in charge ... and can decide
what you want to share with the
student.

Supervision of Midwifery Students.
A lecturer at the School of Midwifery supervises each student
and is available to discuss any questions or issues you may have.

Hi Kahlia
That's awesome that you have put your name forward!! I am sure it will be a great experience for both of you.

Hi Shannon
No being nearly halfway through doesn't matter at all. We would love to have you. If you are still keen, PM me your details and i will get my coordinator to contact you.

Timaru A teeny bit too far. I had a 3rd year student with my daughter for her birth and follow up and she was so great.
