Topic: Help please..... Posted: 02 April 2008 at 8:29pm |
Hi Ladies,
I wasn't sure if I should post in here in the the TTC section, I decided to try my luck in here.
Earlier today I decided to POAS and I got two blue lines before I left the loo. As soon as the wee went over the second line it instantly turned blue.
I've never know a line to appear soquickly, is it a faulty test?
Thanks,
Michelle

Michelle! Congrats! I don't know about tests being faulty and giving positives, but I would think that if it was faulty, you'd get no lines at all. I'd say you're pretty pregnant LOL.
Wow! What a surprise!

No I would say that is a pos test. I used a clear blue test with Spencer and that came up right away. I was about 5 weeks when I took the test.

Hey Krist. I feel like a bit of a dork by saying that it was a surprise here too. A happy surprise. Now I'm stressing because in the last four weeks I haven't taken any folic acid, I've had nurofen, antihistamines and one glass of wine.
But on the plus side I ran into my midwife mid-feb and she told me that she is working at wellington hospital now, but will take me on if I become pregnant.
I have no idea how many weeks i am, may-be 5-6. I stopped charting when I became pregnant with Zoe in 06.

Cuppatea, I used clearblue as well. I called my doctor this afternoon but I can't get an appointment until next week.

The surprise ones are the best kind don't worry about the last 4 weeks hun, you can't change them now! Just take care of yourself from here on in and I'm sure you'll be just fine. How funny to run into your midwife and for her to tell you she'd take you on again!? That's really neat.

Hi Michelle. I'd say congrats are in order.
I took my little sis to the doc after she got a positive preg test and my sis asked the doc to tell her it was wrong (she was a teenager at the time) and the doc responded that false positives are essentially unheard of.

congrats! when I tested it turned blue straight away, like, as i brought it up to look at! DOn't worry about the last few weeks. I found out on honeymoon after my wedding (about 6 1/2 wks). The preceding weeks had included my hens , hayfever (antihistamines)and work drinks and dinners for pre-xmas - all that silly season stuff. I started on elevit pretty much straight away and haven't had any problems so far. Oh and I also managed to get food poisoning the day after BFP

Mrskmm I'm off to the pharmacy tomorrow morning to get a few vitamins.
Thanks Kels, it is pretty exciting. I've already got a girls name picked out. I'm so excited I've been online all night looking for maternity clothes :)

LOL Michelle i have my next 3 kids names picked!
When I found out I was having Alize I was at work and done a test (perks of being a practice nurse) when it came back positive I did 7 more incase the tests were faulty, I then checked the epiry date on the box, and rang my friend who is also a nurse and asked her if a box of test could be faulty.. ROFL She laughed saying 'its positive'..I was still so shocked that I jumped on the computer, printed myself a lab form and went to the lab 5mins from work to get the blood test with an urgent callback to medical centre under clinical details lol. Of course by lunch time with the results of the HCG in my hot little hand the news finally got thru my thick head lmao!

That is one big perk. I wish I could rush off and get bloods, actually may-be I could. May-be one of the nurses at work could do that for me :)
When I tested with Zoe I did 7 tests. I couldn't help myself.

I went to a cocktail party on the friday night. Started drinking a bottle of Prenzels lemon liquer on the saturday night and found out I was preg on the Sunday morning. I stressed out a bit too but found out that the placenta doesn't actually attach until later (8 weeks???) and so none of that stuff can pass through.
A few years on I have a happy, healthy, beautiful nearly 2 year old to show for it.

Mine came up instantly when I found out I was preg. Dont worry about having a wine, i'd got completely sh*t faced the weekend before I found out, and mines growing just fine inside. Oh and I only took folic acid for 3 weeks cuz I found out I have a nice allergy to it. Dont worry! And congrats :D

OMG!!!!! How exciting Michelle!!! That is such the coolest. I'm so happy for you and your little family.
When I got pregnant the last time, the lines came up straight away and were really dark. I was already about 7 weeks by then.
I was in Baby Star in Newtown today and they had a rack with some summer maternity stock for $20 and the other was 50% off and they had Ripe jeans for $65 too. Go the shopping!!
