Topic: HELP!!!! Posted: 06 July 2008 at 11:21pm |
My fiancee has 3 kids from his previous marriage. They live with us full time because their mum died when the youngest (now 9) was 3 months old.
Keziah is my one and only blood related child so do you think I'm crazy for wanting ONE more of my own??? I'm so freakin clucky at the moment (what with Tilly, Caden, Max and all the other cute wee bubbas)
We'd probably start baby dancing early next year if I can convince him..
Am I stark raving mad??? Will be 5 kids in this house if we do

no, i dont think your mad at all. i think it would be only natural to want one more of your own, and 5 kids- im sure it isnt much different to 4
i say if you want more, and he does go for it!!!

I don't think you're mad at all!
It's only natural to feel that way, I think.
How old is the oldest?
If the youngest is 9, then they're all going to be self sufficient, to a degree, yes?
Would the older kids welcome another wee bubba?
I think it would be lovely, personally

as the others have said, if you and DP both want another one, then go for it! it's definately not mad, i can understand you wanting another child of your own.
because you have that big age gap between the 9yr old and keziah, i'd think (and i can only guess!) that it would be easier to have another one because the older ones could help you out a little around the home etc

my neighbour had 4 kids to a previous marriage all of whom live with him. they are all teenagers.
He now has a new partner and they have two under two year olds together and everything works well for them, the older kids all help out with the younger!

Go for it Neeks. Convince DF and shag for gold
As Charly said the older kids will be self sufficient to a point and at their age they probably have friends whose parents remember what it was like and would be sympathetic and invite them for sleepovers etc during the early months with a newborn plus they love hanging with Keziah don't they?
Bring on the BDing!

Okay, I think I'm going to go for it..didn't take much convincing on my behalf because of my heightened amount of hormones... I'm going to try convince DF to start baby dancing mid next year for a 2010 baby

eeeeek, I'm finding it hard to 'confess' to my partner about wanting another baby.. just a few months ago I saw saying 'No more babies... this is too tough, I can't do it anymore" and now I want another one??
How do I approach this in a way that wont make me sound crazy?

Neeks: 'I want another baby'
DH: 'A few months ago you said no (blah blah)'
Neeks: 'It's a woman's perogative to change her mind, so that's that. End of discussion. Baby please'
Sounds good to me

How about:
Neeks: Remember how I said no more
DH: No more what?
Neeks: *sigh* no more babies
DH: hmm, I guess so
Neeks: Well I've changed my mind
DH: *looking a little panicked* Oh!
Neeks: So I'm ovulating in the next few days so I'll be wanting to shag everyday till then ok
DH: *forgets everything else you said as his mind gets stuck on "shag everyday"*
Result - Neeks gets another baby

Ok i think your mad!! LOL --- I did when Rhyley was around Kiazehs age want a nother one - i was having so much fun with Rhyley and things were pretty easy. He slept thru could sit and play easy.... But now he is 19 months i know i don't want anymore - i mean hes easy peasy as far as 19motnh old go - and thats it - it is easy and do I really want to put more pressure on myself by having another....
I did how get a wee bit clucky today as I was sorting out Rhyley's baby stuff (to sell on trademe and some to give away to pregnancy help) and couldn't part with someof them --- Just in case we happened to have another - cause accidents happen you know!!
Do what you and your partner wants to do.
ETA: It also makes it hard to be completely happy with the decision not to have anymore when DH would have one more if i said YES
