My boy Toby was diagnosed yesterday with this... the opthalmologist called it marcus gunn winking chewing eye syndrome...

its not very common apparently and will perhaps improve over time...

and all it means is that there is a muscle linking his jaw to his eyelid so when he chews his eyelid appears to twitch...

Thats pretty cool bizzy.  Jaw winking its called.  If he wiggles his lower jaw from side to side he should wink.  Its nothing to be worried about but makes him more unique.

oh and while it may not be common it is one of the things you learn about as a student (optometry) so its common enough for us to know it without looking it up.

I know a guy with that and we really don't notice it that much now we see his so often.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
