Hi babyone

My blood pressure has been up and down throughout my pregnancy. I guess it depends on how high it is but for me it's really just meant that they've monitored me more closely.

Try not to worry although I know it's easier said than done

What was your BP reading??? and what was your base line one that you had taken at the beginning of your pregnancy??

Were you rushed to get to your appointment???

There are all sorts reasons your BP could of be up at that visit, I wouldn't worry too much.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Is that the first time your BP has been recorded this pregnancy? They will likely watch how it compares over the course of a few different readings. Was there anything that might have made you hurried or anxious today? Usually one reading is not enough on its own to cause concern, especially at 16 weeks, but they will watch it over the coming months. Your mw will let you know if she is worried.

I have high BP and that why I am at high risk clinic for both my pregnancy. With DD my pregnancy BP was great with this one its on the high side....ususal is 140/90 these days...so yah its high.

Had a doppler scan to day and the flow to baby is not 100% but they knew that due to the high BP.

Dont worry as my baby is growing fine and is doing great, they can give you medication if it continues to stay up.

My blood pressure is 140/72 at the moment - previously 120/80 for both last visits. BUT I have been under pressure at work and had a bit of a mare at work prior to my midwife appt. Hopefully just a one off!

Its the bottom figure that they are most concerned with not the top one so dont worry too much. Its usually when the bottom figure goes up by 30 from your first reading that they get concerned. So if if goes up to something over 110 they will be doing blood tests, urine and monitoring.
