...for kids...

Daniel is fussy/stubborn and I'm gonna try making dinner more fun looking in hopes he might eat it.

He loves carrots ever since daddy made carrot fans which are slices of carrot with 3 little triangles cut out of them so they look like a fan. He will eat loads of them cause of that.

But I'm hoping for some more ideas... preferably vege ones or seperate meat ones as we don't combine meat and vege in this house cause of me lol.

i dont generally but i suppose you could try those cookie cutters to make shapes of veges. my boys always like it when i put stars on the bacon and egg pie. i suppose you could do the same for meat too - make patties shaped like stars for instance.

I have an Annabel Karmel cookbook which has quite a few fun ideas for making food look like fun things

Cannelloni (easy to do vege - spinach and cheese or pumpkin) that looks like people under a blanket. Use button mushrooms for heads, egg noodles for hair and olives for shoes.

Pizzas with the toppings arranged like a face or animal face (AK does rabbits)

Sandwiches cut out using cookie cutters

Fruit arranged to look like fun things on the plate

Checkerboard sandwiches (make with one slice white, one slice brown and then cut in four and alternate squares on the plate).

There's more, will have a look when I have a mo and post later

I read somewhere that in just changing the names of the food makes it fun. 'power peas', crazy carrot' that sorta thing.

I used to look after an 8 year old and would make her traffic light salad which she devoured with her dinner, it was obviously made up of green, red, and orange vege.

With sammies, I sometimes roll them up instead of putting 2 pieces together and they love this.

The kids also love a chopped fruit platter over whole fruit. This is always a fave.
