Topic: How many wks/days before/after due date? Posted: 12 July 2010 at 1:28pm |
My count down is definitely on!!.... curious to know how many days before or after your due date your little one was born!! I know everyone is different.. but I'm curous never the less!! It's my first baby and I have been told it's likely I will go over 40wks.. although specialist has said I am carrying a biggish baby already.
Most people I know were induced with their first baby- so I know thats a possibility....

10 days early with #1 (induced for PE)
12 days early with #2 (natural but waters broke 4 days before he actually arrived)

the first often is late, its more uncommon for the baby to be born early , and 5% are born on their due date .
In saying that , there are plenty of exceptions to the rule and a lot of first time mums have their baby early .
As for mine , first was 8 days over, 2nd was 6 days over , and this one is due on the 8th , but im saying the 16th

Induced 11 days late. Big baby wouldn't engage so labour didn't come on naturally.

I went 6 days overdue.
The best part about being overdue is the look on people's faces when they ask the age old question 'when are you due?' and you say 'today' 'yesterday' or 'last Thursday' it's priceless Especially if you're in a supermarket, shopping mall etc. and they look at you like you're about to have the baby right their in their shop.
ETA - I almost want to go overdue with my next so I can do it again lol

I was 1 week early when waters broke and she was born 6 days before due date. In saying that I am rather small 5'2 and 52kg so MW didn't think I would have a baby bigger than 7 lbs and if I did it would be a difficult birth
I honestly thought I would be 2 weeks late so was rather shocked/annoyed bout being early!
Anyway she was early but I was 5 days late for my mum who is same size and my baby was 2 oz heavier than I was, also my mum was a week early with my gran and was a bigger baby but she was breech and grans waters broke while the doc was trying to turn her.
DP was a couple of weeks early too but MIL water broke due to an infection.

DS was 8 days overdue and I ended up being inducted due to labour not progressing. I was prepared to go overdue, but in the end I was glad I was induced as I finally go to see my little man after 40 hours of labour

I was 12 days early. On my 4th day of being induced!
I had ridiculously high blood pressure (but NOT pre-eclampsia) so it was in my best interest that baby came out sooner rather than later (not even drugs were lowering my BP)

2 wks late going by the new date they gave me at the 12 wk scan. But if we had stuck with my orignal dates then he would have only been 2 days late.

Caleb was 10 days late and 7lbs15oz, so pretty standard here!
I reckon if you count down to 42 weeks you won't be quite so annoyed when you go overdue. After all, 42 weeks is the longest they will usually let you go so that's a guaranteed date!

#1 -2 days early
# 2 - 8 days late
next time I will definitely be counting down to 42 weeks instead of 40 weeks, as those 8 days overdue went by very, very slowly
