 Topic: How Old Should Baby Be 4 A Stroller?

You know the kind of strollers that are lightweight...small...compact....easily thrown in the boot of the car (instead of the big/bulky buggie).....
Does baby have to be a certain age/weight to go in these safely? Just wondering when its time to give up the baby capsule (eg 6months) can you start using a stroller?

I bought the quinny zapp stroller and they say not to use before 6 months and that bubs has good head control.

Daniel is 7 months and I don't like him in those lil strollers just yet and he has great head control and is strong etc. But that might just be me. I'll put up with my bulky one for a while yet.

I'd like to know too, we have a 4 wheel bertini shuttle and it's quite big (takes up the entire boot) and it's a mission to put up in a hurry

I started using a stroller for our son when he was around 4 or 5 months old - it reclines back too which is a bonus and we took it over to Australia with us for a holiday last year.

Yeah I think when they have good head control & strong back. You could put your baby in one in the shop & see how she sits in it, if she slouches right over then still not old enough. Unless you buy one that reclines as well so baby can lay back until is old enough to sit upright.

I have Lauren in hers occassionally and have since day one, but it lays right back and I put a head support thingy in it. Its just to pop into the mall etc, not for long periods of use, I have a Mountain Buggy for that!

also, depends how long you want to walk around. when Jake was little we had one and when he fell asleep it looked SOOOO uncomfortable.,

Josh was 6 months when I started using it. Andrew was 2 as I only brought it when he turned 2.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

They look a bit flimsy to me too so we're still sticking with our normal stroller.

My sister was using one when my nephew was 7 months old. Was so easy to throw in/out of the car....I have a Phil & Ted buggie....its very easy to collapse...but can be a bit heavy to get in/out of boot of car....and small lightweight stroller sounds very easy!!! Think by the time Ella is 6 months old we'll invest in one. She's already got amazing head control for a 3 month old....by the time she gets to 6 months she'll be perfect for a stoller I think!

I have Keziah in a semi reclined position in her bigger stroller and she still has issues keeping her head looking straight ahead for longer periods of time so she's definitely not ready to be straight up and down yet lol
