Thought you all might like a good laugh, i can laugh now but at the time i couldnt.

Its mums birthday today, and she has requested that i bake some scones for her, so this morning up i got prepared the ingredients and then realised that i had no baking powder, well off to the supermarket i go, only to find that i had to go to 4 different supermarkets as they were all out of stock of baking powder.

I get to the last supermarket and of course the shelf is empty, so what do i do, i burst into tears, just as another pregnant women is walking by. She stops, asks me if i am okay, and between sobs i tell her that i need baking powder etc etc, she looks at me and with this look of (oh you poor thing i know excatly how you are feeling), asks me how far along i am...

Anyway to cut a long story short, a staff member came along at that time and took sympathy on me and dug out the last book of baking powder she had hidden as she needed it and gave it too me. I really dont think i can go back to that shop.

I can laugh now but boy was i so embrassed.

yep i had a moment like that when i was baking paris's birthday cake cos i had decided to use cake mixes. I mad eup one, to find it turned out too small - so thought ok, i'll make two together.. which turned out nice and high, but not as big as i needed so decided to go get some more and make another cake to join the two together...

when i originally got the cake mixes there were a million of them on the shelf, but nooooo i had to go to about 3 different supermarkets to get them cos 1 didn't stock them, another one was out and finally i found a supermarket with 2 left. boy i was happy... but was about ready to just give up and buy her damn birthday cake by then!
