I found Next Generation washing powder good coz it's low scent so the smell didn't irritate me. Couldn't use toothpaste so I used the kids stuff coz it wasn't as strong.

That's such a good idea Maya, I always gag and throw up when trying to brush my teeth TMI. Are all of the kids toothpastes not as strong or are there certain types?

I'm not sure, I used the Macleans Milk Teeth coz it's what we had in the house at the time coz it was the only one Maya would use. It's a little bit minty but not anywhere near as strong or peppery as the adults ones and it's a bit sweet.

I learnt to throw up every morning before I ate anything coz bile and water come up much easier than toast and marmite

Gosh, memories really are flooding back. I had forgotten how bad it was. I had a man tell me the other day that he couldn't imagine feeling sea sick for 8 months or so. The thing is, it was so much worse than sea sickness. More like alcohol poisoning and then times it by ten.
The one thing I managed to eat was pacific rose apples. They were nice and juicy and seeing as I couldn't drink, they were good. One day I ran out and made hubby go to buy some more and he came home with the wrong apples. I burst into tears and he had to go get pacific rose. I just could not eat/drink anything else. I don't normally eat apples. I went through a pineapple stange too. Oh how foul it was. I have made a decision today. Hubby is right. Specialist is right. No more babies. My girl was worth every bit the battle but she will just have to be spoilt. She has a half brother and sister so at least she won't miss out on having siblings. How long between your children? Do you think I'll forget and change my mind eventually?

I used to eat apples when I was preg with the gremlins, I'd sleep all day then have an apple on the way to pick up Maya from preschool so I didn't get too sick on the way from not eating. The cruelest thing about hyperemesis is that you have to eat to make yourself feel better but then you throw it all up
Butefulbaby - there's 3 1/2 years between Maya and the gremlins and 20 mths between the gremlins and Chiara. Don't count yourself out just yet, a couple of years to recover and you might be strong enough to face it again and it really is worth it!

theres 4 1/2 years between S & J, one thing that got me really panicky with my last pregnancy tho was with S i had soooooo many scans as they were worried about her growth due to me being so sick. but with J i only had the usual 2 so i was always worried if he was growing lol!
i remember being really jealous of all those "golwing mums to be!"
i felt really good 1 morning so decided i would attempt breakfast - weetbix never ever again have i eaten weetbix.

LOL hyperemesis didn't affect my babies growth - Maya was 9lb and the gremlins were just under and just over 7lb and they were 4 weeks early!

My wee girl was fairly little. She was 5 lb 12 oz. The other babies in our anti ntal group were all 9 nd 10 pounders so she really looked tiny next to them. I loved having such a little baby. It just made her more precious.
Oh dear she's just started screaming....best go and rescue!!!

Chiara was small compared to my other babies but I think that is more due to the cord being short and wrapped around her neck so it was a bit compressed than the hyperemesis.
