Topic: i broke the baby Posted: 05 May 2007 at 9:52pm |
today was babysitting again for my gf. She has the two, one and four year old. anyway, the one year old was on the rocking horse when Mr. Two decided he wanted to get on and pushed her off (thank GOD it wasn't Jake pushing) and Miss one smacked her head, slicing it open on our window! so one trip to the emergency room, where she was put under anaesthetic and glued up (I rang her mum so I was at home). her ,mum came to pick up the rest of the kids at 6 (after a bath and dinner), but she looks a mess( the baby that is). I was so upset - i permanently scarred the baby!!!! her mum is of the belief that it could've happened anywhere - thank goodness. they ended up staying til 9pm as they live miles from town and the hosptial said to stay close by in case she went unconsious. scary stuff....i'm off babysitting! after the "incident" I made the kids all come inside and quietly watch videos for two hours! the rocking horse is now banned! stupid thing is, the minute miss one waled in, guess where she headed???

Oooh Liz, thats awful! Glad you (and baby of course!) are OK, but I bet there's a few frayed nerves after all the excitement!
And yep, it could have happened anywhere! Maya cut her foot on a huge piece of glass at the beach when I was less than 2 feet away from her and had to have surgery.

When i was little my mum said the emergency room had my file waiting for me at the front desk when i was 2-3 (mostly cos they never had a chance to put it away from my last visit). Most knew my name when i arrived. I was a very accident prone child and never listened. Kids hurt themself it cant be helped as my mum realised after i pulled a phone down on my forehead threw myself down the slide and off the bench i climbed onto myself in a week. I was a real handful im surprised mum had 2 more after me hahaha

Big hugs Liz! It was not your fault! Boy, that sure would give you a fright. Hope you both are feeling much better now.
