Topic: If you won Powerball... Posted: 02 October 2008 at 9:44am |
what would you spend it on?
As a spin off of the other thread I thought this could be fun!
I would..
- buy some land in Karaka and build my dream home
- Be relieved we don't have to get a loan to pay for wedding and Europe honeymoon
- give some $$$ to each of mine & DF's family members
- Leave work and start my own business (earlier and with less stress than already planned)
- Donate to SPCA
- Invest in other small businesses and other ventures

I would:
-
Pay off mine, my parents, my inlaws and my friends mortgages
-
Ring Clariages in England and book it for a night and state that Gordon is to cook, serve and eat with us - Would take my family and a few other Gordon loving people.
-
Have a few great holidays with and without the boys
-
Pay for the woman who have breast cancer to have that drug for the year.
-
And probably buy a few investment properties over the country.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

DF and I and a couple of our freidns were talking about this last weekend...
- Buy the house we fell in love with which has sheds and workshops galore for DF and a dishwasher for me
- Pay off our parents and friends mortgages
- Renovate our current house and rent it out or sell it
- Buy midgets (speedway race cars) for everyone in the pit crew who wanted one
- Buy a BIG bus specially modified to carry the midgets around the country for racing, which comes complete with nursery for the kids
- Start having babies right now
- Probably buy my wedding dress direct from Jane Yeh instead of having it made here in NP
- Ummmm.....buy me a Holden Commodore station wagon!!!!
Those are some of what we came up with LOL
I would probably also give up working here, and start buying (crap) houses, renovating them and selling them again.

I would look at houses.
Grants response is to keep very very very quiet and put it away and just use interest on stuff but all hush hush. Wont even really tell family and will rather help people out without them knowing it comes from him.

DH and I love playing this game.
We would:
- Buy our dream block of land on Cheltenham beach in Devonport
- Build our dream house on it, and a little cottage for my parents to stay in when they visit
- Buy a couple of new cars but nothing too fancy
- Buy a 'bach' (hehehe) in Queenstown/Wanaka
- Keep 1 mil to play with - shopping, travel etc
- Invest some
- Spread the rest around family and charities
We can dream...

I would:
- Buy a house and a holiday home (plus fancy bits like cars and furniture of course!)
- Put 1 mil each for the girls in a trust
- Give a decent amount to family & close friends so they can pay of their mortgages and have a bit of spending
- Set up scholarships and funds for charities so that the capital reinvests inflation and then they can spend the interest
- Invest any left over
