Topic: Im home!!!! Posted: 18 March 2008 at 12:33pm |
Just got home this morning from hospital (more like a hotel than a hospital!)
Surgeon found a little bit of endo on the back of my uterus and a tiny bit on my bowel. He also said there was a lot of blood in my veins around my uterus similar to varicose veins
He said he can treat that with drugs but it is a very high dose of contraception and may affect my future fertility, also has a high rate of depression and weight gain side effects, so he said he wasn't comfortable giving me that. He hopes that removing the endo will sort my pain out if that is what has been the cause, or else I'll have to manage the vein stuff with pain killers. Good news is though that my baby making bits are all "pristine" So in his professional opinion he would like for us to have another baby asap as that would re-distribute the blood flow and get things moving better again.
I'm not in any pain from the holes in my tummy (3 holes) but the traped gas in my shoulder and under my ribs hurts like a be-a-tch!!!!
Any tips on getting the air moving - it's not in a place where a fart would fix it LOL

Hi! Just move as much as you can (hard hard hard I know) and stay upright. It takes a few days to pass :(

Glad everything went well Toni! I didn't find anything helped with the gas pain in the shoulder but for me it left after the 2nd day so hopefully yours does too Although once that left, the pain in the tummy started (I had 4 incisions). Oh and just to warn you that it is normal, the next couple of periods you have may be *quite* sore - I found them way worse than beforehand but they do get better!!

Glad you are home. I found a hotty or wheat bag good for on my shoulder. It seemed to help a bit. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm using the wheat bag but it doesn't seem to be doing much and hurts even more when I put it bag in the microwave. Just called the Surgeon's rooms and they said that charchol (sp?) tablets helps so have just sent DH out
Thanks for the heads up re. the periods Kelly

Back to work next Tuesday as I can't drive for 10 days.
I took those charchol tablets an hour ago and feel heaps better!
I'm way too sore to want to put a wheat bag anywhere near my tummy just yet

Passing the wind is the best way to get rid of the pain.
Good to hear things are all good thou.

the wind pain is soooo intense huh!! i didn't get a warning about that when i had my first lap op and ended up ringing the hospital at midnight to ask what was wrong with me by day 2 i was feeling alot better
in my experience, the 2 lap ops were far worse than the 2 c/s!
woohoo for pristine baby-making bits!!!
rest up as much as you can hun
