We are living in different cities to both sets of parents, so I am going up to chch today to stay for a week with my folks, coz its my birthday on Saturday, aand then mothers day. so I am going to spend the day with my special Mum, then pop over to DP's Mums and have some time with her. I know she will appreciate it more than a costly gift, as she knows we are on a tight budget.

I love spending time with my mum especially now that we are TTC, and just know that our bond will grow ever stronger once bubs is here.

I have a wonderful relationship with my MIl - possibly even more remarkable than some because DH is an only child. My inlaws are caring, supportive and just excited for us in what we do in our lives.

My mother is the manipulative [insert word of choice here], and I no longer have contact with her. For a while there we all got on really well, and even had 2 christmases together, my family and Dh's, which worked fabulously. In a way I am glad things have happened the way they have, as there is no way I would be able to spend a Christmas with my inlaws once bubs was here without being made to feel that I was the most evil person in the world. Now we can chooses what we want to do for Christmas without guilt trips.
