Hi Honeybun...
Helen Wemys is the only specialist I haven't seen at Ham FA... my friend who has just been referred there had her first appt with her and said the same thing - to the point and not that friendly.
Can't really remember how long it took to get my IVF confirmation letter - I used to ring them and hassle them about everything... just call them and ask for a confirmation letter, I'm sure they'll oblige!!
I ended up ringing them last Sat because I got sick of waiting for my BT results, I left message and they called me back within 10mins.
Roll on Wed! good luck with your appt Serenna - I hope you get some answers

Serenna - I'm a bit lost as to why you are under a diabetes department at the hospital becing treated for fertility matters? Did your Dr refer you to that department? Or is it that you are being treated for something different - for example, a health issue associated with PCOS, instead of fertility treatment becuase of PCOS? I know you said you are being treated for infertility, but surely you would be under a gyno? Perhaps you should go back to your Dr to seek a referral - of course a diabetes department will not know about gyno issues. They specialise in a different field of medicine!
In NZ a hospital department won't necessarily refer you to another unrelated department, especially in the public health system - you have to start the process again by seeing your Dr or specialist.

good morning! i thought the same thing as you nzmum "full bladder for EC!!!!!! oh my goodness!" i will die!!!
I had helyn weymyss ages ago and yes she is pretty abrubt and i felt like she rushed me through everything i didnt understand a bloody thing, the counsellor Sue told me more about stuff than helen so thats why i suggest take a list of questions to ask helen and take your time, Sue the counsellor there is such a honey so if your ever offered the chance to see her JUMP at it! she is just a treasure man and she gets all excited like a kid shes really infectious. And she has been through everything we have so fully understands.
Since i have startedmy treatment i havent seen helen at all!! its quite funny actually but everytime you go into clinic your meeting another nurse or doc and they are all happy and funny so dont worry if helen comes across a bit different.

Thanks chickpea & tarns, its good to know what she is like beforehand so at least I know she is like that with everyone, iykwim.
I have talked to some of the staff there and they are just lovely so I imagine I will be like you tarns and probably see someone different all the time. Which is all good especially if they find out what is going on with me. Yay can't wait.
Our horses arrive this afternoon, so Im real excited about that. We have been given two horses by a lady down taupo way who just wants to keep them together at their new home and she is giving us all their gear as well. So exciting times I better make the most of it cause once I get preggy Im not allowed to ride

I meant to say that I really liked the tinfoil idea whosever that was - much better than the balloons. Knowing my cat, she'd think it was Christmas with all those balloons!! Mental cat!
Oh. and woops!! Maybe that's what it was. I only had a full bladder once, I remember that much, and I DEFINITELY had a full-un for ET. Damn baby brain!!
And chickpea - still no period is a good sign!! (I'm assuming we'd have heard if you had!)

Woohoo, just spotted you're 12 weeks today Ginger, coolies!... actually I can't beleive the time is ticking along so fast (well for me, might not be for you! )
That's gotta mean my count-down to getting surgery date is ticking along nicely too... wow, great distraction your tales are ladies - keep 'em coming! (plus, I get the feeling I'm gonna be going a similar route so it helps to know what's to come -eek, not that I'm wishing it upon myself though, but I guess you gals know what I mean ).

Yip... still no AF... hopefully that's a good sign. DH said to me last night "you better pregnant... otherwise you've turned into a real b*#@%h!!"
.... I guess there's been a few mood swings then!!! LOL (sorry DH)
Yeah, no full bladder for EC, just ET.
Jaxs everytime you go you'll see someone else, Helen will prob oversee your treatment but you won't necessarily see her each appt. Good luck with your journey!
I agree Tarn, make the most of seeing Sue- she is a real HONEY!
Roll on Wednesday, these last 4 days are taking FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chickpea - I had a similar experiance with Fertility Assoc in Hamilton and left everytime in
I now am under a specialist in Auckland and the nurses ring me on the same day with blood results tell me when to do stuff etc .. they have been fantastic.
We have one dog at home and she is part of the family. She is a large bread but very very gentle nature. She will be staying put when our family starts arriving.
As to groceries the easiest way i have found is to get my fruit & veg from a green grocer rather than a supermarket - ends up $30 per week which includes milk and eggs. Then usually about $30 at the suppermarket essentials only, bulk and bargins where i can. I save $15 per week for 1/2 a beast over the new year and also buy organic chicken from auckland which gets put into the freezer - getting a whole chicken is cheaper than $18 per kg for chicken breast alone!!!
I have had pings of ovulation pain both in the left and right side this time (maybie a double chance). We didn't do a scan this month - things are a little tight and when estro is at 900 its a guarantee that i will ovulate so if we end up with double or triple what we were expecting it's all good
I wont be doing IVF but i can imagine that it has got to be taxing on the body between injections massess of hormones, invasive procedures etc - so for everyone going through it at the moment. Also to those waiting on results at the mo.
Have a brilliant day everyone - i have written a flippin novel!! Dough

Hey Tarns
I would say no. Reason being is you have quite a few follicles and if they take quite a few it could be painful. I had 12 and I was sore for about 4 days afterwards and on top of that I had OHSS. I would rest up before ET. Hope this helps.

I think everyone feels/copes differently. It is a painful procedure but doesn't take long. I probably would take the Fri off just in case... and if you are feeling fine on Friday think of it as a well deserved long weekend
Goodluck for tomorrow Tarn - I'll be thinking of you!

Margs - go to the profile tab next to the private messenger tab and put the code in the signature section about 2/3 of the way down the page.
Obviously to get the code, hunt down a ticker website, make one you like with whatever dates etc you want and go from there

Oh and for tickers, make sure you select the option that has [square brackets] not the <pointy ones> hope that makes sense.
