Topic: Interesting times.. Posted: 01 November 2006 at 8:40am |
Hey ladies, have not been on here terribly much lately.. just a few posts here and there (doesn't help that mike used all our broadband for this month already and i am now too impatient to wait for dial up speed!!)
So thought I'd give you an update on life at our house.. lol.
Mike's still working.. looking into studying IT next year..hey why not, he put up with me studying for 4.5 yrs.. least i can do is the same for him. lol
wedding stuff is still getting there, plodding along nicely.. now found out dress can be made size 9, and to fit my height.. so am glad of that.
just thought i'd add a few extra series of ..... ..... for good measure. damn i do that far too much!..
lol
girls are growing big and crazy. Paris is a bit hormonal and bossy but lots of fun. Taking it a bit too far with being a mummy figure for Ayja though.. telling her off and such.. have to remind her we are the parents.
Mum, we found out yesterday has been diagnosed as having stage 3 renal failure.. on the boarderline of stage 4 - stage 5 is pretty much the end of it. so i have no idea what's going to happen with bailey and all that if and when she starts getting sicker and i think neither does she. got off the phone from her last night and just had a bit of a howly to mike cos i know whats ahead for her and it's not nice, its a matter of knowing that there isn't too much up from here, mainly down.
and my new job.. i still love it, i hate getting up so damn early, i hate finishing so late on other times, and i hate that i have not got a full weekend off any time in the near future. but the job itself is great. I am now moving up to the ICU side of things with the really newbies.. which come swith interesting challenges of its own as they tend to forget to breathe on a very regular basis.. so am getting to grips with dealing with babies that are turning blue in front of me. Will never get used to that, but at least know what to do and is almost auto pilot now.. not like originally when i would be shell shocked for a min and quietly freaking out inside.
so that's our house. am looking forward to xmas.. will be interesting, as it will be our first xmas alone for a long time.. usually either we are at my sister's house in matamata, or they are here, but that's a no go this year. am still keeping fingers crossed that i will not have to work at all on xmas day.
hhm that's about it.
feel like i miss so much on here at the mo, still my little sanity saver though lol.

Wow, you're a busy chick, Janine! I dunno how you hold it all together! Your job sounds both exciting and terrifying at the same time! I too am sorry to hear about your mum - that's really sad news. Big hugs to you and your family.

Yes we have that too... "Hannah I'll be the mum, you be her [Briona's] friend"
So sorry to hear about your mum... how old is Bailey?

good to hear from you, sounds like things have been pretty full on lately. I hope your mum gets better. Is there any treatment they can give her or is it just wait and see? How old is Bailey?

Have no idea about much at all, she just found out yesterday, so i guess we will see what the docs at the hospital think. Bailey is 4 months older than Ayja.. so is about 21 months old now. He has had his fair share of illness this winter.. but mum has started him at daycare a couple of days a week for a few hours cos he is a huge handful.. very on the go, constant climbing, screaming, opens cupboards and smashes all the plates and cups, etc.. anyway has caught everything going and more from daycare, and has been in hospital more than at home in the last few months. we haven't been to see them a heap cos if my girls caught the stuff he gets then we would have huge probs.. am kinda angry at this point.. my little sis needs to step up and take care of him but i know she never will.
ha, busymum.. Paris does the same, but more often than not it wil be the "now ayja, you know that if you don't eat your food nicely then you can't have .." or if ayja drops her drink on the floor "right, you can't have it back now, I'm having my drink nicely so i'm not going to be thirsty, you don't get one"..

lol Janine - your girls are growing up so fast!
Sorry to hear about your mum - its so much worse when you know what lies ahead because you have to keep it to yourself (happened to me when MIL had her subdural). Glad to hear Bailey is doing well - even tho he's been sick in hospital...
Are you working this weekend? I am - but lets catch up, we've forgotten the last few times, so I'd really like to Text page me (057) in the morning with a time

Aw Janine... not great news!
Glad to hear the job is going well and Mike might get to be the student for a while.
And Paris sounds like she is growing up so fast! (Too fast?)
Thanks for the update
