Topic: Its not so cute anymore Posted: 28 August 2007 at 9:53am |
Josiah and Xavier used to walk around the house with our cellphones, one each. Josiah would pretend to talk to someone and Xavier would just grin and watch the screen light up every time he pressed a button. It was very cute to watch, but won't be happening anymore...
I went to see what our two little rascals were up to first thing this morning, to find them in the bathroom. Josiah looked at me and said "phone gone now". I looked down to see my cellphone in the toilet! I pulled it out while calling to Nat, and then glanced back at the toilet to see Nat's cellphone in there too!
My phone is sort-of working, Nat's is completely stuffed. I've still got my old Alcatal somewhere (in one of the boxes ) so I'm going to get that out, and Nat's bought a cheap phone online that Dick Smith are clearing out (he only paid $44 including postage!) so we'll be okay as long as our SIM cards still work!

We have, Stacey... but Nat's phone is so stuffed, it keeps randomly vibrating even though that wasn't on when Josiah picked it up initially (and there's no way he can turn it on, the keylock was pretty good) yet it won't power up.

Our contents insurance does cover them, but its not worth it - the excess on the claim is $100, and we only paid $99 each phone so we'd get $98 back. We're not going to bother.
After overnight in the hotwater cupboard, Nat's phone is definitely kaput. Mine sort-of works, but we're going to replace it as the screen is almost completely shot.

I've been giving Gina my cellphone as she can hit the buttons and it makes sounds/lights up so she loves it. Guess I should stop now before its too late!
Can you get the SIM to work from Nat's phone? Would be a bummer to lose all the info

I took my sim card into a Vodafone store yesterday, and explained what happened. They took my sim out the back and checked it in one of their loaner phones to see if it still worked properly, which it does. So if mine is going okay, we're hoping Nat's is too. The biggest problem is that our old phones stored the directory on the phone themselves rather than on the sim. Most of our contacts are on our sim cards as well, from before we got those phones. I can get the data off my phone, but we won't be able to get Nat's.
