Topic: Ive never seen them run so fast!! Posted: 08 May 2007 at 5:40pm |
Two really young looking Jehovas Witness boys came to the door asking if they could talk to me about the church.
I said 'I'm really sorry, but I'm in labour and about to go up to the hospital to give birth'.
This was then followed with them backing away quite fast while saying 'Oh, oh.. umm, oh, sorry, umm, yes, well, I guess it's not a good time.. Ok, good luck'
Worked pretty well I thought.
Having a big preggo belly makes for endless amounts of fun!

LMAO Renee!
I am a bad person, and probably going straight to Hell - when we moved house I gave the JW's that had been bugging me for months the wrong address, so now they'll be harassing some other poor fool

we grew up with a family of them behind us...mum told them she would take a shot gun (??) to them one day as the father told her that he had decided and it was chosen that i should marry his son one day...i was like 8!!! She was so convincing (like she would have a shot gun?)that they ran scared if she even looked at him mean from our place when they walked past etc....was kinda funny!!!
I would go the twin route - tell them you have two gremlins there that are sick with chicken pox and measles - would they like to come in....maybe this is one for Emma when they find out where you really do live!!! LMAO!!!

I had 2 harassing me a couple of days ago, they just wouldn't go away. I ended up just shutting the door in their face and going back to the couch even though they continually knocked on my door. I wish I had thought of something like that but I bet if I had they would have stayed anyway! lol

Lol ... maybe you should have asked them to help...
We had some come to our flat once and my friend answered the door. Her comment to them was " Sorry I don't believe in God I'm Cathlic" they looked very confuded but left without any argument. It had me rolling on the floor it was so funny at the time. Maybe because she really is a good Samoan Cathlic girl, wonder how that went at confession.

My DH works night shift, and a fair few years ago a couple of women JWs got him out of bed (he doesn't wake up well mid-sleep for this sort of thing). He was on the 2nd floor, so went out in his dressing gown onto the deck and growled at them. Apparently they looked up, eyes wide, and then scuttled off down the driveway quicker than you could say 'bible study'. Of course, he realised after the fact that it was probably less his growling, and more the fact that he sleeps au naturel and they were looking up his dressing gown ...
They never did come back though!
(P.S. I was bought up a JW, and once when I was door-knocking I had dogs set on me and 2 people I was with. The guy held the dogs inside and then let them go once we were just far enough away from the gate that we *might* make it back out!)

I actually feel quite sorry for JWs, I think they (feel they) have to do door-knocking to earn their place in heaven or something. But so many people find their visits a pain and they must get some really rude receptions sometimes. Like Ginger and the dogs, that's just awful.

My brother used to live in a flat that was targetted on a fairly regular basis by JWs and Mormons. There were about 10 of them living there (think proper old school student flat in Grey Lynn!) they would often say to the door knockers things like "Dude you are just in time, we have just packed a huge bong.....wanna come in for a toke".....often did the trick and they backed off....

I went and did a $500 grocery shop the day before the gremlins were induced. It was a 2 trolley jpb so I had to ask the checkout supervisor to mind one trolley while we finished the rest of the shopping and she was so concerned - when she asked when I was due and I said I'm having twins tomorrow she said "oh dear, come and sit down over here" and looked rather alarmed
