Hi everyone,

I had my blood test today for my FET and begin progesterone tomorrow then transfer on Monday! Yay, I'm very excited.

Can someone please tell me what the Colorado protocol is? Is there a higher sucess rate with it?

Thanks

Hi Sharpie - Just did a search on the Colorado Protocol and this is what it said - The protocol varies by stage and individual Doctors may vary it slightly but in the general protocol works something like this:

STAGE ONE
1. Commence Baby Asprin (Astrix, Cartia, Cardiprin) when you commence Syneral / Lucrin.

STAGE TWO
2. Your husband commences Doryx 100mg twice a day for 7 days when you commence Gonal F / Puregon.
3. You stop Asprin on the day of your first ultrasound.

STAGE THREE: The day after the Trigger Injection (Pregnyl)
4. Commence Prednisolone 25mg at night for 5 nights.
5. Commence Augmentin 500mg orally twice a day for 5 days.

STAGE FOUR: The day after egg pick up.
6. Crinone (Progresterone gel) one application each morning.
7. Apply two Estraderm mx patches 100mcgm to the buttock (one on each buttock). Change alternative days.
8. Recommence Baby Asprin.
9. Have intercourse the night before embryo transfer.

OTHER

Continue Asprin, Crinone/Estraderm Patches until the pregnancy test.
If the test is positive, treatment continues to 6 weeks.
If the ultrasound shows a viable pregnancy, continue all tyreatments until 13 weeks are completed.
The Asprin continues to the 34th week of the pregnancy.

Because mine is a TER then I start meds around transfer date I think the nurse said but will know more when I go for my scan on the 17th.....

And in there somewhere are Heparin injections too but not sure where they fit in.

Hi all

I agree so much going on can hardly keep up.

Fx crossed Roella for quick next 12 days.

AFM - contacted clinic today as Day 1 yesterday. We will try another FET later this month. Clinic rung FS and he has recommended also pogestrone pesseries as well to boost it up from ET. I am doing another natural cycle if everything works out.

Have been getting to the gym quite a bit and now doing WW unlimited plan rather than online. Have managed to lose 2kg in last week and the propoints plan seems heaps better. Even if this one doesnt work at least I am feeling better in myself as well. I have estimated I should hopefully be at my goal weight in 10-12 weeks all going well and if I get a BFP in the middle there that is all good!

Hope everyone else is doing good and good luck to people either undertaking injections or EC or ET at the moment.'

We are a supportive bunch which is really good to see.

One issue I have is that apart from talking to DH about how we are feeling, because parents and friends dont know apart from about 4 people no one really knows what we are going through.

have a good night all.

Sharpie – how fantastic!! Transfer Monday that is great news, I wish you all the best x

Rooella – woohoo for a successful transfer to the mother ship, your nest few days sound fabulous I really think I should have gone down that route but hindsight is always 20/20 isnt it! Hope you are being spoiled rotten x

Louloubell – must be nice to have hubbie home x

Trouble – I felt the same a little isolated and DH felt pressured before I decided that I would tell people. I really think it had made a difference for my mental health this time to have people who know and are positive with you. Good luck for you upcoming cycle, the pessaries sound like a good addition if not a little messy!

Marnie hayden – welcome! I’d agree with Rooella that they just know more about you after each cycle and how you react so that they can tailor make your next cycle to hopefully have more success.

Rosiefarmer – a slower pace sounds like just what you need for a while x I’m feeling physically good thank you for asking, mentally I’m not sure I’m all there but not sure I can blame that in IVF either!

Lisaloo – I’m pleased that it wasn’t too late for the Colorado protocol, I’ll be interested to see how you go, take care x

AFM - the 2ww is torturous!!!!!!!!!!! I'm talking to the peanut but it doesnt seem to be responding! I'll feel bloody silly if it's already gone haha anyway keeping busy with work, study, extra work etc just cant wait to know. The nurse rang from the clinic today to wish me all the best, very nice but she had me in tears I think I may have crossed the line between sanity and insanity! So lovely to have you guys and the fantastic support x

hi lisaloo - we have 1 embyo left - was 8 cell when frozen and last time got put back at 12 days.

If doesnt work we will look to do stim and hoping that if we have to do it that by being healthier both of us means more might fertilise. I have given up coffee and almost given up coffee and now on green tea and chinese jasmine tea which I really enjoy. Aiming to lose another 6 kg or so by the time we doa stim cycle so hoping that only puts me in middle of healthy range for BMI etc through WW.

have a good night all.
Yeah I am being healthy at the moment and feeling better - off shortly to the gym and yoga class. Have gym 2 min down road which makes a difference as well.

I dont mind pecessaries from first time.

We both are feeling a lot more relaxed things and trying not to stress. What will be will be. If we have to do another stim cycle it went well previously so will hope for the best.

I would just love the embies that we will prob collected from stim cycle to go to blasty since last time we only got 3 embryos.

Hi everyone,
thank you so much for that warm welcome. I think I've come to the right place

Thanks to everyone for the advice on success rates, turnes out you were all spot on!

Hi Tiff8ny - I'm only on my 1st cycle so I can't really offer to much solid advice, but I'm on day 7 of gonal F and also started cerotide thismorning so I'll have a go. I deffinately experienced light AF-style cramping and a full, bloated feeling, but havn't had any signs of blood at all. If I were you, I'd just ring my nurse, even just for peace of mind. Better safe than sorry eh?

Rooella - If you could see my face, you'd notice its green with envy. Can't wait to be at the stage you're at. Must be rip-your-hair-out nerve wracking though Sending heaps nof sticky baby dust your way

Have a great day all you lovelies, keep fingers crossed, and hopes high

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great day. I am trying not to torture myself but it's started already - LOL.
Lauren - when is tets day hon? Must be soon!! :) :)

Sharpie - great news that your transfer is on Monday. Wahoo.

Loulou - aw yay that must be so nice to have your hubby home again.

Trouble - sounds like a great plan you have there with the weight loss / health kick, go you :)

Tiff8ny - sorry i don't know abot the cramps either, did you ring the nurse? Hope all is well :) Those drugs do a lot to our systems so it's porbably only natural we feel a bit funny sometimes on them.

Marnie - how did you find the cetrotide? I got wicked bruises from that which i have never had from Buserelin or Gonal F.

How are you doing Rooella? Do you do a HPT just before your blood test to give you any clues? I bet the 2ww is awful, every minute I would be thinking am i? arent i?

Yes I rang my nurse cause I have light bleeding as well. She said thats all normal, I could even get a heavy bleed she said. So that was a relief as I was getting a lil anxious! Today I am really starting to feel the drugs kick in, im so tired and soooo emotional! I find myself tearing up all the time. Oh well another week of this yet lol

Hope everyone is doing well xx

Tiffany - pleased you called and have an answer, that didnt happen to me last time but its good to know it is normal. I know what you mean about the change the drugs make in you, I found it worse last time as I think it the the change from being down regulated to being stimulated. Look after yourself and if you need to cry, cry, dont bottle it up, just my two cents

Rooella - MONDAY!!!! I'm at the stage where I'm very tempted to POAS but so far have resisted the urge, today I can resist tomorrow working with a newly pregnant lady may be harder. How are you feeling??

afm - babysitting tonight a 10mth old and 2 autistic kids 3 and 4 yrs old...wish me luck

Hi girls! Sorry I've been busy and haven't been able to do much more than read over the last couple of weeks. But thought it was about time I touched base. I'm going to try to get my head around where everyone is - it's all go! Exciting!

Louloubell – sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis, great to see you looking forward - April's not too far away!

Happygal – So sorry to hear of your BFN. So unfair - where to from here for you?

Jane W – unbelievable about your FET cancellation due to BT being too late - grrrrr. Sorry to hear about your Mum too.

ScaredyCat – nice to see you - June is also not too far away!

Tiff8ny – hope things are progressing well towards EC!!

Rooella – aww Rooella - SOOOOOO excited for you. I just know it's your time!! Fx'd

Trouble06 – Your weight loss is sounding good - FET this month is it?

Rosiefarmer – just over 2 weeks till you start 'shooting up' again - wahooo!

Mountaingirl – I hope you find a clinic you're happy with.

Lsttcdiver - Monday, Monday, Monday - wow!! Fx'd for you too

Lisaloo – FET ahead - yay, let's hope waiting for the thyroid to get sorted does the trick!

Poppy1 – thinking of you, you're going to do a FET soon?

SunshineWife - drug pick up today? So close to starting!!

Leilani – I'm so sorry. I hope that you have success if you do go down the donor egg track

MarnieHayden – welcome! Sounds like EC is very soon for you - hope it goes well.

Sharpie – Is it EC or transfer for you on Monday? Hope all goes well

Apologies for the book girls, but just thought I'd use it as a way to get my head around where you're all at! AFM, going to do Day 3 bloods and Day 4 scan this cycle (was put off last month due to earthquake) and if I can twist DH's arm get back on the private funded bandwagon this next cycle! The earthquake has taught me life is short and life is far more important than money!

Take care and have a great weekend
Jo

Hello again ladies!!

Rooella - yeah the cetrotide is harder than the gonal f, to inject, I find. Just looks scarier somehow. It left me with an itchy rash but no bruising so far
I only have one bruise and that was from my very first gonal f jab, big and black, well, turning purple/yellow now. I'll be taking my second dose of cetrotide tomorrow morning, before my scan. Fingers crossed, it does as little dammage as the first one. I've already got my trigger in my little stash in the fridge so, all going to plan, I'll be told when to inject it, tomorrow...Yay!!

Tisch - Yeah egg collection could be as soon as monday, I think. I hafta say, I'm quite nervous about it. Hope it isn't too painful and I'm well sedated.

Tiff - Glad you rang your nurse. Best way to put your mind at ease, eh?
