Maybe I haven't had enough sleep, but feeling a bit emotional atm.

I was so excited on Tues that Maya is now allergy free, and feeling optimistic about the gremlins chances of avoiding too many problems but I just got a copy of the letter the specialist sent to our GP which says that the gremlins "symptoms are consistent with cows milk protein intolerance".

I don't know why I am so upset about it coz deep down I think I already knew that they had inherited the allergies, but they are doing so well on the hypoallergenic formula that you'd never even suspect it.

So now I can't stop crying. We had such a long, difficult journey with Maya, I can hardly look at photos of her without getting upset at how emaciated she looked and coming up to starting solids with the gremlins terrifies me.

Bad, bad buzz

Oh Emma, That's sad news.  I really hope it's not a long journey for these two as well.

Emma - I'd say that this time is going to be much much easier. With Maya it was the unknown... and she was only so thin because her allergy wasn't picked up! Your babes are looking happy and healthy and you KNOW how to deal with it! You can do it! And there is light at the end of the tunnel - if Maya has got through it, then so will the Gremlins.

We can start a countdown until they are 3 years old if you'd like?

sh*te. Just tried to work out a ticker but it seems I have to go searching for one that will count down to 3 years

Big big hugs Emma, I can only imagine what you went through with Maya, so I can't offer any advice. Just letting you know that I'm thinking about you and the so far the girls look so beautiful and healthy I'm sure you can get through this.

Totally understand - I had a bit of a cry the other day for the same reason Like Nikki said, at least this time you know how to deal with it and what to do/look out for. Hugs.

You are more than entitled to have a good cry, and you know where we are if you need to vent

Lucky Gremlins to have you as an "experienced" mum. They'll be just fine because like the others have said you know what to look out for this time around, as do the specialists.

Big hugs Ems.....Like everyone has said, your more experienced now and their allergies will get picked up earlier than Maya's. As for the Gremlins they are just gorgy happy, healthy babes (from what I read and pics I see on here) and Maya is just as happy and healthy

Busy mum to Miss 15yrs, Miss 10yrs and Master 4yrs

Oh Emma that sucks. Everyone else has already said everything I am thinking - your babies look so happy and healthy and so does Maya...you will get through this and hopefully it will be so much easier because you've done this before. Big hugs hun

I might have missed something but if the twins are intolerant and Maya was allergic, then the road will be easier this time? (not to mention the experience)

And if it's the same, at least you know it won't be forever too.

But as for Nikki - - - is all I can say!

I did wonder about that too Teresa but apparently Clinical Cows Milk Protein Intolerance is the fancy term for milk protein allergy, intolerance is usually to the lactose not the protein

The Gremlins will be fine. Youve gotten onto things really early and you so know what foods you need to avoid.
