Topic: ...just wanted to say sorry Posted: 14 May 2011 at 2:46am |
I am really, genuinely sorry if I offended anyone as a result of my 'social clique' thread.
I was just trying to defend the honor of some of my online friends, whom have left OB, due to certain drama's and possible misunderstandings.
I am truly and genuinely sorry for any offense, or perceived attacks I may have caused. That was not at all my intention.
I will in future, leave it up to those offended, to defend their own honor.
I need to get over my messiah complex and trying to 'save' everyone.
I do not think ill of any of you. I just had a rather jaded impression/perception of some of you.
I should not have trusted so readily, others jaded opinions and been so easily swayed. I should have got to know those of you, and made up my own mind.
In all honesty, when I first created the thread. It was kind of just a vent. I was in a bad place and quite severely depressed with the PND I was at the time experiencing. So I was quite simply, not in a good place and venting. And honestly, I think my blog would've been a more appropriate place to vent.
All I can do is apologize and hope I can be forgiven and acknowledge my fault and part in this all.

Escada tbh I think you're your own worst enermy IMO you should just let it go - you write this, you write in your DD thread and you blog about it, all in apparent contradiction... Just move on, and I'm sure everyone else will too

I think the sentiment is nice , however when you say one thing on your blog then another thing in here, I could see how some people would just think "oh here she goes again"
But still .. you apologized, I dont ever think Ive seen that on these boards!

ah yeah,I too appreciate the apology, because it is rare to see on OB....but then out of curiosity I looked at your blog and its a completely different story,so now im confused.
But you are right on your blog when you say we are each in charge of how we are feeling,so Im choosing to feel that im not really bothered at the end of the day,it was a thread that got out of hand as they often do in the end,its deleted now and everyone can move on.

I think sometimes you just have to "build a bridge" (as you mention in your blog) and let things go. Continuing the "angst" in another thread - intentionally or not - seems a bit like attention seeking to me. Sorry if that sounds harsh - just my opinion - given that I dont KNOW you at all, I am merely making an observation based on the post that you have made in a public forum, and should not be taken as a personal attack.

I was drunk when I wrote this. Can't even remember if I wrote on my blog too. That may have been a few days ago.
Edited to add. It appears I must have blogged last night.
...going by the wording and the fact I've had to edit a few words and stuff, due to not making sense, I clearly blogged while drunk. Not doing that again.
Need to stay off the net while I'm drunk I think!

If you are to comment on a person you believe is just attention seeking you are really just encouraging.... unless your reason was to offend?
I thought that both this thread and her blog said pretty much the same thing.
This thread was a direct apology to anyone who was offended or hurt for what she said in the other thread, and also said that in future she will try and avoid such conflicts (at least thats how i read it?)
In her blog she has also said that the original reason was not to offend people....then she has gone on to try and work out the way people think, which is what a lot of people do. (i found that with depression i tend to wonder if people think the same way my brain works a lot.) but a lot of her blog looks at how people think and get on with each other, but in no way was she less sorry for offending people.
However i do think it is very brave to apologise to a large group of people at any time (esp the responses she seems to have received from doing so.)

Yup, we can all move on I think. That was part of why I asked for it to be deleted.

I wasn't the only person who asked for it to be deleted. Some of the posts were actually against the 'code of conduct' on here and someone else pointed it out. That could be part of the reason it was deleted.
I did suggest it as an option, that it be deleted, if Admin thought it was getting out of hand.
And to clarify, I did not create another thread, I just publicly apologized, as some people had been hurt and/or offended by some of the posts on that thread.
