We flew to Ireland when the girls were 11months (We fly again next week yayy!)
Anyway we took jars, formula in travel containers, open boxes of baby rice/cereal and different types of dried snacks ( crackers, raisins...)
We were never asked to chuck anything out ( even the dregs of a bottle that was in the buggy). The only time we had to taste anything was leaving Auckland and they asked us to taste the Pamol.
Just take minimal stuff, a few books and some favourite toys. My 2 spent most of their time walking up and down the aisle and playing peekaboo with the people in the seats behind.
Their surroundings should be enough of a distraction, seriously it's amazing how fascinated a baby can get with a seat belt
Also I would take a blanket to put over baby while she is sleeping to help keep out distractions.
