Hi - about to give birth to my 2nd child in November. I am determined to give myself a little "pre-baby pampering" this time, and I want to get a facial close to my due date, but I can't lie on my back for an hour! Has anyone had a facial somewhere in Auckland that doesn't involve lying on your back?
I would think they can probably tilt the bed up abit or sit you on a chair maybe?
I had my eyebrows done when I was 36weeks and would have been lying there for 20mins at least didn't notice it being a problem. But then I slept on my stomach until I gave birth
I had a facial at about 33 weeks. I did lie on my back but brough my knees up and tilted them to one side so there was pressue off my back. I think the lady put a towel behind my back for a little support too. I wasnt as comfortable as I would have liked, but was still relaxing enough.
D'Aguiar Salon in Newton are fabulous for accomodating preggie ladies, they tilt the bed up for you at whatever height you want and do the facial like that....absolute bliss...i still get one done every two weeks and im nearly fully cooked!!
Just jumped on here to see if I could help out- as I had my baby 9 weeks ago and found this site really helpful.
I had my eyebrows done about 38weeks.. and oh my goodness... I kept having to sit up as I felt all faint and hot and nauseous... that was only for 10mins! the lady had been pregnant so she understood! You could sit in a chair? or ask if they have incline beds? or we tried layering up with heaps of pillows....
i had massages on my side too... so maybe thats an option..
Not sure if you would consider this to be Auckland, but Pure Indulgence at Pukekohe (they have a website if you google them) are great with preggy ladies - I have had lots of things done there, including a few preggy massages - bliss! they even have special big pillows for preggy bellies :-)
