Hey Anthea, IMO it's best not to use cotton over nappies as cotton wicks, so if the nappy got too wet chances are the clothes would get wet too! I cover the nappies I make with either polarfleece (polyester) or minky - there are heaps of cute prints of those too! Polyester is way less likely to wick moisture onto clothes

You can make them like that Anthea, although if your DD is a heavy wetter you may find that it wicks. If you were doing a stitch and turn nappy you could possibly bind the edges of the PUL and cotton with extra PUL IYGWIM so that the cotton inside the pocket wouldn't come into contact with the insert and wees - but honestly I would find that a pain in the arse!

You can get cotton that is already laminated, same with Minky - or you can buy minky seperately to use with the PUL. There is quite often lots of minky cuts being sold on The Nappy Network - they're pretty cute too.
