making the switch

ok so DS is nearly 9 months and ive been considering swapping to cloth for ages, but i keep putting it off because i have it in my head that it's going to be such a hassle, and having to buy everything that i'll need might take some saving up
anyway, is 9 months too late to make the change to cloth nappies? also he wee's....alot! so i would need a brand that doesnt leak (or as little as possible) because we're co-sleeping he still has feeds in the middle of the night so tends to have quite a full nappy in the morning  his poos are more formed now so that's not really something im too worried about, basically what are the essentials that id need for a 9 month old staring out on cloth nappies (just recently weighed him - 9kg) and preferrably would like all in ones, but if anyone has any that they swear by then ill take any suggestions!

oh those both look cute, ive seen the ecobubs ones before in a nappy shop and thought they were cute, so with pockets do u just need to put an insert in?and just change the insert at nappy changes?

Definitely not too late to change. At 9months you probably need a dozen (beware you will become obsessed pretty quickly as they are SO cute I love showing DD's cloth bum off lol).

Jump on Kidsgear as well, (plug for pepsi hehe) but nah thats where I got my ecobubs from. Check out Trade Me I do pockets as you can stuff and stuff and stuff for days if you want. Can pretty much be used just like a disposable aside from the fact that you don't throw it away. Mum finds the snap thing a little confusing but its been 20+ years since she has had to think baby. If you've got a heavy wetter my suggestion would be pockets, just as easy as AIO but you have to stuff them which is easy enough to do mindlessly in front of the tv. I would also suggest getting bamboo or hemp inserts, my few bamboo inserts seem to absorb more then the microfibre.

Pockets all the way here. We use Fuzzis - really not as difficult or fiddly as you'd imagine! Easy in fact, once you get into the rhythm of it. They dry really really fast compared to AIOs and you get very quick at stuffing them (I do it in advance). Pop-in dream dri is awesome at night. It's the most heavy duty nappy I've seen - bulky but oh so reliable and absorbant. Hope that helps!
