OMG Noah is eating choccies already????
Well I was gonna post that Ella had her first yum cha today but Noahs choccie and strawberry eating tops that!! LOL!!! Anyways...Ella did really well...had bit of the sweet bread pastry, chocked on it, coughed it back into mummys hand...BLAH! Then demanded (and got!) custard filling from my custard tart!! and then the pumpkin filling from DHs tart! Gave her a won ton corner...but she tried to choke on that too!
She had a great day tho - lost some of the clinginess as my GF (cambodian one) gave her mega cuddles and taught her new words in her lingo....Ella just looks at her with pure adoration and squeals etc! They had a blast! Next to teach her to use chopsticks before her daddy learns...LOL at BSDH trying to stab food at yum cha OMG!!!!

I know BS I was a bit late on that one and Noah already had half the choccie in his mouth before I realised what my naughty dad had done. I didn't let him have another though and thankfully Noah didn't throw a tanty about that. This is the man that gave Noah some banoffee pie when he was about three months old I think he is just trying to get in Noah's good books and it seems to work cos Noah's new word today while we were at their house was "papa" and thats what my dad is to Christoher... He's sooooo proud.
Mmmmmm yum char... What a fun day for Gabriella. She would have had a blast. Thats great that some of the clinginess is starting to wear off. It can get a bit tiring after a while. My DH is really good with chopsticks but I am appalling!! Gabriella will def learn before me LOL!!

I've been away for a long weekend up north (my DH inherited a house on some family land)so no internet no cell phone and no TV well we get TV1 and 2 but they are pretty fuzzy so not really worth watching.
It does the kids good though they have to entertain themselves. We had our family and 2 BIL's and their family's and MIL and one of the other nieces staying in the house. So there were 9 kids and they all had great fun going to the beach, down to the stream they even had a swim. And going to feed the 4 pigs that belong to DH's uncle.
So glad to see miss Ella has bounced back I couldn't wait to get back so I could see how she was doing.
Oops just looked at the Clock had better rush up to school to get Alex as it is raining.

ah the land sounds lovely....esp come summer - will be great for your kids to grow up having a place like that....I love the north...
Ella is good now...realised tonight that she hasnt been coughing and has slept 12 hours straight again every night since being home. ME well i am coughing up a lung tonight...id be too scared to have a chest xray as they might admit me for a month!
Ella has a new DC friend too...wee girl called Summer who was born 2 days after Ella at 37 weeks....so nice she has bubbas her age. Summer isnt sitting yet tho, and is still rolling but am sure once she caatches up there will be no stopping them! Ellas latest is she crawls to her bike in corner by garage access and looks up so we put her in and take her for a ride....such a wee con artist at such a young age!

Forgot to mention Alyssa finally slept through the night on the 15th then again on the 17-23 then it all turned to custard last night and she woke up three times Grrrrrr.
She usually wakes once about 4.30am which is not to bad but those nights she slept through were from 8ish to about 6.30 I felt like a new woman. But she is getting a cold so she was pretty unsettled last night poor baby and poor mummy. I was hoping it would continue. Oh well fingers cross last night was a one off.
Alyssa got introduced to all sorts while we were up North. Nana's give babies anything. She had very fresh fish, smoked fish all sorts of biscuits, fry bread (it's a Maori thing yum yum) roast beef and some ice cream and half an icecream cone. All things she can hold herself. She really hates being fed, we have to trick her into eating the first few spoons them if she likes whatever we are feeding her she will eat it.
She's also had a taste of chocolate and milky bar because DH wanted to see if she'd like it.
Hope you are feeling better soon BS looks like that bug from Oz really affected all your immune systems.. roll on summer and the warmer weather.

wow alyssa sure is trying heaps! how did she cope with the dairy side of things? no reaction?
Have to say we are being careful with Ella really - weve come this far with no reactions to things so doing slow introduction of food etc....
OMG i cannot wait for summer....im so looking forward to seeing ella play in the sea....she is such a water bubba

None of us have any allergies to food. So I wasn't that worried about Alyssa having the ice cream it was only a lick or two then DH ate the rest and gave her the cone. I think my other two may have had ice cream younger.... MIL again she's terrible for giving kids food they shouldn't have. We really have to watch her with lollies when the kids go to her house because she feeds them to them before dinner.
At all the kids first birthdays (and she has 15 grand children now) she always buys an ice cream cake then after everyone has there piece she lets the b'day kid play with it. Truly a messy experience. We know never to let our kids go to her in their good clothes. She loves getting them outside to play in the garden/mud etc as well.

oh dear gotta love grandmas huh?
well we went to ellas dc open night tonight...was very interesting to see just how many kids and carers she has totally wrapped around her little finger...and i kinda feel bad that they ALL know her name yet I dont know half their kids names....mind you I guess her yelling "Elle - LA" out about twenty times makes sure everyone knows her name! Was totally cute when a little Shireya (whose total vocab in english at 18 months is "ella" and "baby") came up and smothered Ella in kisses and cuddles.....ahhhh sooooo cute!
well I am home alone again - DH is in Oz again....but have big bed to go snuggle up in all by myself soon....always is kinda nice when he isnt here!

Hi All,
I am back to work now which sucks a bit but is really nice to use the brain again!! Sorry I haven't been able to read all your posts, you guys have been chatty.
jack is doing really well. Still not rolling, still not crawling but we are in no hurry for that. Loves his food though and gobbles up his solids which is great. We have tried him on some of the more chunky stuff but he chokes on it still at the moment. He is not that keen on day care but goes there without a drama, he was so excited to see me yesterday when we picked him up.
Off to P&C show this morning - really looking forward to it.

Hey everyone,
Have been lurking but have had no time to post so thought I would grab myself 5 mins to sit and finally post.
Life is super busy, Elle is great, rolling absolutely EVERYWHERE and desperately trying to crawl, she'll inch her way forwards and push herself backwards but as far as getting up on all fours, not quite. She is loving her solids but is a wee bit fussy, only likes pumpkin stuff, and really dislikes meaty flavours. LOVES pears and bananas and peaches/apricots etc and I gave her a piece of honeydew melon before in her feeder and she LOVES it, in fact ate all of it apart from a tiny squashed up bit and wanted more. I figure its a great way to get some fluid into her as she still won't really drink water. She sucks it up the straw and then proceeds to spit most of it back out.
Was SUPPOSED to have plunket yesterday but plunket nurse never showed, waited 45ish minutes for her at the doctors rooms(which she uses every 2nd thursday), she rung this morning to say - it was the 8th she made the appointment for - yeah right!!!! I know it was this week, cause I had it written down, but what can you do. Anyhoo I measured her when we were there and she is 70cm long, couldn't weigh her though, which is pretty much the only reason I wanted to go.
Having a bit of an issue in the poo'p department, as in they have been really hard, poor wee thing. I know more water etc would help but what can you do when she won't really drink it. Hoping having melons will help with all the water in them.
Been super busy with work. Did just under 40 hours last week. Not quite as busy this week, yay, although we have had the huge winds here and the power was off for 2 days (we had a wee bit but 2/3rds of it was out), also the phones were out and minimal water (as we use a pump to get our water from a spring).
Woke up this morning and was listening for Elle's breathing in the monitor (which is always been pretty loud - with her floppy larynx) and couldn't really hear it, man was I out of bed in a flash, walked into her room to find her face down asleep in bed, she had rolled onto her tummy (even in her safe-t-sleep) and decided to sleep that way. What a way to nearly give me a heart attack. We haven't been using the anglecare monitor as I am passing it on to my sis (who is due in 3 weeks - and we bought it together) but now thinking maybe I should keep it and buy her out of her share of it, cause its just that extra piece of mind.
Everyone sounds like they are doing well, great to hear Ella is doing better, BS - I know all about those chest xrays - we had to do them on Elle when she was about 5or6 weeks it was HORRIBLE!!!!
I had a wee laugh at what all the kids have been eating too, DH is under strict instructions from me - nothing new unless I ok it!! She has had the tiniest taste of chocolate, but nothing too sweet - I am trying to stop her having the extra sweet tooth her mummy has

Hey Hails - just quickly before I get Noah bathed and in bed - we give him a kiwifruit every day and that keeps him nice and regular. He really loves them (the gold ones) and would prob eat more if we let him Hope that helps

LOL hails it was great to have a big catch up!!! **slaps leish!!!**
Ella sleeps on her tummy too...umm usually up the opposite end of where i put her, feet out the side or under the butterfly or something...thank goodness for monitor for peace of mind is all i will say (buy her out!!)
Well dont moan too much about them not crawling yet...Ella is soo quick it isnt funny....when she wants to be! she goes so quick now if she spots paper lying anywhere...god i have to be quick. and putting my leg out in her way doesnt stop her - she clambers over it. I have the no fear kiddo! and she often crawls to her bike now and demands a ride...that one amazes me. it is a fair distance to go and she clearly has that intention! she doesnt roll so much anymore either.
must try her on kiwifruit...hadnt thought of that. I dotn eat lot of fruit or veges so i forget about stuff like that.

*ducks* hehehehehe It really was good to have a nice big catch up from you Hails and Elle. Couldn't help the cheeky novel comment though. Sounds like she is still doing fabulously and you have been really busy with work. Will be nice having the extra cash at this time of year with Christmas coming up and stuff. I agree with BS - buy your sister out!! I just love the extra piece of mind with the angelcare monitor. I am so not ready to part with it yet. I didn't think of giving my DH similar food instructions and since I started work Noah has started having peanut butter and has also had a couple of smoothies - mixed berry and spirulina. He loves it
Ella is such a clever little miss crawling all over the place. How cute. Noah loves standing and pulls himself up using our hands and wants to walk all over the place The plunket nurse said he might not even bother with crawling. I think he will though. Just doing things in a funny order LOL!!
Hope all our mummies and babies have a great weekend.

Noah will grab a finger from each hand and pull himself up that way. He hasn't tried just grabbing on and hoisting himself up that way. Not looking forward to that.
YUMMO caramello freddos. And do you remember the strawberry ones. I loved freddos too and still do to be honest. Looking forward to the piccie Hails. Hope the day at work didn't take too much outta you.
How did your garage sale go BS? Is BSDH back from Aus or was it you and grannie "manning" the fort?
I am hoping and praying that I get some sleep tonight. Noah was an awful baby last night - teeth here too I think Hails. I just want them to cut already!!!!! Christopher's teeth just popped out no problems. He was the perfect baby *sigh*

Hope the garage sale went well, BS.
Was hoping to surprise you and auntie E this afternoon with a visit after we went to the parent and child show but we spent so long there and grabbing a late lunch that we didn't get home until 5! (and we were there at 11!) - eek!
I was cross that we spent so long there and the child became a grotbag because she was out of her routine that it all became a bit much so we canned the surprise visit , sorry
Glad to hear BBS is getting better now. All we need to hear now is that BS is on the mend for it to be a great day.
lurker Rackell out.
