ok well daytime is never a joy for me...sometimes she will and others - well i left her crying for 40 mins the other day - i can hear monitor and ticking....and she then slept for 40 mins and was happy as ever before...little madame!!!
night - im prob not best one...dont hate me - she is sleeping 12 - 13 hours still straight...or self soothing if she wakes. BUT the two nights she has woken she was cold!!! yep had to make room warmer and put more clothing on her and success - sleeping right through again
she is getting grumpy these past two days - one i have been a little stressed, two she is def teething...
have you maybe tried one dose of pamol before bed at night to see if that helps...try warming her and the room first and see if that fixes it tho..and is she poss teething??? red cheek etc???? if so pamol will help...
also i put ella down during the day when she starts rubbing her eyes or sucking thumb and closing eyes....if i dont do it then she gets over tired...you need to recognise the signs....if i miss it then she will cry longer than 5 mins as over tired...if i get it she is out before ocean wonders finishes - 5 mins!

Oh no fattarts Poor you and poor Charli. Must really be doing your head in.
Noah is a really good sleeper. In the last few weeks though, he has been starting to stay awake a bit more during the day and at first I found that he was struggling to get to sleep a bit more than he used to. I had the feeling that he was trying to test his limits - trying to stay awake longer than 1 hour at a time. While he was getting used to staying awake longer - I had to cuddle him to sleep. I would put him to bed as usual and he would just scream - very unlike him - so I would cuddle him and put him down when he was out. This only went on for a couple of days and then he seemed to remember how to get to sleep again on his own. Perhaps Charli is doing the same sort of thing????
Noah is teething at the moment but that doesn't seem to be affecting his sleep. He has about three or four 45 minute naps during the day and then sleeps for between 10 and 12 hours during the night.

And LOL Bombshell. **waves**
Had a very busy couple of days and my hubby was hogging the pc last night so didn't manage to get on here before I had to crawl in to bed for the night.
Noah has started to play with his star light in his cot. When he is going to sleep all you can hear is the music, him singing along and bang, bang, bang as he knocks it around against the cot. Funny.
He is also def teething at the moment. Bright red cheecks and biting anything and everything - including mummy's nipple Ouch. And then he starts growling when he does it. Charming. Heaps of dribble and in a bit of pain during the day. Poor little man. I hope that the teeth come through and don't just tease him for nothing.

It just all flies so quickly. I started putting photos in his baby album yesterday and he doesn't even really look the same as he did when he was born. How (and when) did that happen

5 months You need to post some up to date photos of her YM. Seems like ages since we have seen a new piccie of Gina.
We took Noah to the Dr today. Over teh last few days he has started spilling HEAPS!!!!! I started calling myself the bib cos he always seems to get me really good and by the end of the day, I reek of spilled milk So not attractive. After Kels was here with Alize yesterday and she saw Noah in action and said that it was so not normal (I had been kinda thinking it was - silly mummy). We tried Gaviscon but it didn't seem to be doing much. Besides the increased spilling, he's been really unsettled and crying lots so off to the Dr we went and she diagnosed reflux. She gave us some stuff to give him (a 1ml dose) and I gave him a dose before I fed him tonight and NO SPILLING!! Absolutely none at all. It was amazing. Usually he spills about 4 or 5 times between having his last feed for the night and going to bed but none tonight. It was so nice not to get spewed all over. And he was happy and smiling after he fed tonight which hasn't happened at all this week. His excema hasn't cleared at all since the no dairy for me and no fruit for Noah so the Dr said that it could be a dust mite allergy Can't do much for that. She seems to think that it will clear up in time - especially when he stops drooling all the time.

she is drinking 200-230 mls in that one bottle - i give it to her at lunchtime...is that normal??? she empties the bottle!!!
and yes stil having booby and yes getting plenty and often comes off drunk and content and still sleeping her 12 hours a nite so milk must still be ok...but the huge amount of formula gets me....I was expecting her to leave heaps!!!

I wouldn't worry about it Bombshell. She's a good little feeder and shes used to your breastmilk and with all your milk thickening strategies, she is probably used to having lots and lots. I'm sure there would be more adverse affects if there was something wrong.
Little guzzle guts though aye. Must be all the energy she uses up when she is kicking the heck out of that FP toy of hers

How often is she feeding Bombshell? Gina eats 4 times a day and drinks around 200ml each time - but she can drink as much as 250ml when hungry. She has EBM but should be the same quantity so sounds fine to me.
I will post some new pics of Gina soon - I promise!

Hey girls,
I have been a busy wee mummy lately, with having my wee sis here, but put her on the plane the other night , so just been me and Elle the past few days (with DH for a few hours through the day), DH has had a cold and (yuck - Man sick - oh the dramas) and now has passed it on to Elle who is all snuffly, with a runny nose, sneezing and a bit of coughing, she must also have a bit of a sore throat, as her cooing has been on the very croaky side (although I must admit it sounds very cute).
Am having issues with Elle feeding still, she is biting a chomping me and pulling off and then going back with a venegence, have been trying to give her most feeds via a bottle (EBM), because its just to darn painful and feels like my nipples are going to drop off. I am finding it hard to keep up with the milk supply for the bottle though (and yes BS have been trying all your tips), and am chewing through all my back up freezer supply. I have also introduced a formula bottle for the last feed of the night as well, but then she only ever seems to drink about 150mls of that. She has also started to wake again in the night hungry - which I had hoped the formula might help with as well but seems like its not. So just not sure, plunket are coming on thursday to check her weight etc so will ask her then!
We had an oops in the bath the other night, I told my wee sis to bring her togs with her and she could have a bath with Elle, the 1st one she had was fine and then when they were having the 2nd bath together, sis was holding her and I went to grab her to turn her round and she wiggled out of both our grips and went head under. She got such a fright, and I picked her up straight away and turned her onto her belly and made sure she was breathing ok then gave her a big hug, poor wee thing! Gave wee sis and me a bit of a fright too, and I made sure my wee sis didn't think it was her fault, after all Elle is such a wee wriggler in the bath, and it could've happened anytime. Plus our bath is quite deep so hard to hold her sometime from that angle, have now bought one of those bath thingies that she can lie on and hope this helps me a bit.
lol Leish (re Noah and playing with his Star in bed), Elle can grab onto her mobile as it goes round and pulls on the toys, I often hear it going 'click, click, click' as it tries to turn, but can't cause she's got a hold of it.
She has also discovered her feet can pull her playgym tunnel closer to her and she can use them to push her way up the tunnel, very cute, looks like she is trying to destroy the thing with her feet.
Man I can't believe they are all growing up soo fast!

Hi I'm back from Nelson brrrrr it was cold down there but had a great time and the kids really loved it.
Will post some photos when I get the time.
Just wanted to say hello. I have't had the time to catch up on what has been happening on this thread yet but will hopefully have a bit more time in the next day or two. Just spent the last two days catching up on all the washing etc.

Hails - ella went under last week in bath too...face first...she got fright but made her splutter it giggled to ditract her and then made her kick again...she was a little water logged but got over it real quick!
We had blast tonight in bath.she decided to grab her toes while on her back and lie there sucking them...was soo funny = and seems to have my flexibility and take after me...i sucked my toe not my thumb - yee weird I know!!!
As for feeds - well today she had three feeds in morning before we went out, a bottle at 11am, another feed at 2pm (boobie) and then three before bed within 1.5 hours!!! and did 22mls today in formula bottle...I have no expressed milk and havent done any for weeks cause she is on me so often and empties me...the long sleep and the midday formula one lets me fill up again...

Welcome back to the North Island Shaz. Hope that you have managed to make a dent in your washing pile. I hate post travelling washing.
And hi Hails **waves**. Nice to have you back. Sick men are the worst aren't they. Mine had a cold last week and was convinced it was glandular fever and was on the verge of tears one night cos he was sooooooo cold!! I just had to laugh cos it actually was rather funny. No good that she is still having feeding issues. Hope the plunket visit goes well though and wow - these March babies can really move!! Noah is still pretty much just lying there but he seems to be getting more interested in moving around a little.
LOL Bombshell - Gabriella is clever to be grabbing her toes. Noah tries but can't seem to reach them over his sizeable belly and ends up getting a handful of his, ahem, manhood, instead He gives it a good squeeze (reassurance I think) and then keeps trying to get his feet. You can see that he soooo wants to hold on to them but has only managed to touch his big toe so far.

HI all, just quickly checking in. I do keep up to date with your posts, but don't really have much to say!
All boring in our house. Have been discharged from maternal mental health today which was great, they are really pleased with how I am doing too. Am having issues with feeding Jack but am thinking now that I will let him demand feed for a bit as I am a bit tired of the battle. Basically he feeds for 2-3 minutes then latches off and screams when you try to put him back on, same thing happens with a bottle. Not sure what it is, perhaps his teeth are moving. Have called plunket and will wait to hear what they say when they call back

Let me know what they say S.B, as Elle has been doing pretty much exactly the same thing, and man do I hurt!
Poor wee thing is soo blocked up with the cold, her nose is running, she is coughing and sneezing, I would take her to the doctor but have no car at the mo (getting cam belt done before it hits 100,000km), but done all the things you should do anyway (checking temps, her cot is raised anyway, giving Pamol to help lower temp), her temp hasn't gone above 37 yet so not really bad. My poor baby

well they didn't say much at all, and the lady I spoke to was a bit hard to understand. basically she said he would feed if hungry, suggested I move to a 4 hour routine instead of 3, and also wondered if after the short time he was on the boob he was draining it (which is not the case, 2 - 3 min, I don't think so, and they still feel full anyway),. She said if he wasn't dehydrated to not worry. Not comforting at all!

wow 4 hours is a long time...Ella basically feeds within 15 mins of wake up and otherwise is feeding by demand every two hours or so....if she has a 2 hour sleep she wakes ravenous! i am soooo not sure why she can then sleep 12 hours and not need a feed for about 15 mins after (DH gets her up most mornings and waits to bring her to me!)...go figure?
I find Plunket pretty hopeless all round really...the last one i had was ok but still a lot to be desired...and anyone else notice they dont write exactly what they measure??? that annoys me!
